The vaccine exists. No quotations necessary.
You think? von.The last time my wife told me that it was "time to pull out", we were blessed with a 7 lb, 8 oz baby boy 9 months later! Parked a little too long, I guess !
Nobody can be this DUMB ???I have been in the Teamsters union for over 15 years but I am seriously considering pulling out. Georgia is a right to work state therefore they can not force me to be in it. I am sick and tired of the unions automatically supporting the damn democrat party. Just look what Biden did his first day in office, he killed thousands of union jobs but the unions still back him. I think I will send my withdrawal papers though on Monday, you can call me a scab for leaving and I will call you dumb ass for staying.
Oh yes they can. vonNobody can be this DUMB ???
Things must be slow in Fort Smith ??? .lol
28 states, more than half, have RTW laws. I had no idea that states like Michigan and Wisconsin were trying to "kill unions".So the teamsters should support the party that actively tries to kill unions?
The dems are far from perfect but at least right to work isn’t their top priority. Oh and by the way Biden is the first President to actively endorse Union organizing efforts since LBJ when he weighed in on the organizing campaign at Amazon.
If all that was this simple then the union shouldn't be made by law to represent non paying people....I saw in another post on a different thread you saying something to the effect that if the union doesn't listen to the members then you should withhold dues, this coming from the " union man" who stated that in his time as a union representative holding all sorts of jobs in the union, that he favored the company over the members....the same guy who would hide his head in safety meetings and not speak up until he "put in his retirement papers"....you disgust me with your anti union rhetoric....and no one is confiscating money...you agree to pay dues when you are hired....no one makes you join the NRA but you do give money for your permit, and if you want AARP benefits you pay to be a member....28 states, more than half, have RTW laws. RTW laws do nothing to prevent organizing or collective bargaining. The Federal Labor Relations Act of 1935 guarantees those rights. No state can take those rights away and none has. RTW simply allows workers to withhold dues payments if they feel the service they receive is overpriced or the union fails to represent their values and beliefs.
Did you know that no worker anywhere in the United States is required to join a union? Closed shop laws only require payment of monthly fees. They do not require anyone to become a member.
Should every retiree be required by law to pay dues to AARP?
As a concealed carrier, should I be forced to give money to the NRA?
No organization should be allowed to confiscate money from anyone.
I'm not anti anything. I also don't blindly defend and support anything. Unions are the balance between all out capitalism that exploits labor and socialism that believes the only reason corporations exist is to provide jobs. The key word is balance. Investors are entitled to a return on their capital investment. Labor is entitled to a return on the investment of time and talent. The out of balance comes from unions that proclaim all labor is of equal value. Profits are necessary to continue to survive and thrive. Unions, whose work rules prevent the right people being put in the right jobs and refuse to reward the productive encourage mediocrity. That was fine in the regulated industry but does not work in the America free market economy. Competition is always best for a working economy. Competition creates better service, higher quality and lower prices. That is American capitalism which has created the greatest economy the world has ever known. The regulated, government price controlled trucking industry that limits entry into the market place is textbook socialism. If all that was this simple then the union shouldn't be made by law to represent non paying people....I saw in another post on a different thread you saying something to the effect that if the union doesn't listen to the members then you should withhold dues, this coming from the " union man" who stated that in his time as a union representative holding all sorts of jobs in the union, that he favored the company over the members....the same guy who would hide his head in safety meetings and not speak up until he "put in his retirement papers"....you disgust me with your anti union rhetoric....and no one is confiscating money...you agree to pay dues when you are hired....no one makes you join the NRA but you do give money for your permit, and if you want AARP benefits you pay to be a member....
I will bet he does in fact get invited...but he doesn't spout such nonsense as he likely wants to go home in one piece....after all this is the "union leader" who was too big of a wuss to speak up in safety meetings until he "put in his retirement papers"....Blade I bet you don't get invited to the Preston/Teamsters picnics do you?
And every word of this post is true and undeniable.I'm not anti anything. I also don't blindly defend and support anything. I did 5 years at Yellow for one reason only, to get to 30 and out. With 500 drivers at Cleveland, I could keep my head down, do my job and quietly leave. That is exactly what I did. No apologies for that.I will bet he does in fact get invited...but he doesn't spout such nonsense as he likely wants to go home in one piece....after all this is the "union leader" who was too big of a wuss to speak up in safety meetings until he "put in his retirement papers"....
I am reminded of one in Memphis.Oh yes they can. von
If that's what you say....my opinion is that you told us about all these union jobs, including road steward in Cleveland.....so it makes me think that if a member came to you with something controversial that you would tell him he had no case, so you could go on "keep your head down (I wonder how far down), do you job and leave." I got a feeling you do owe the members you (mis)represented an apology.....I did 5 years at Yellow for one reason only, to get to 30 and out. With 500 drivers at Cleveland, I could keep my head down, do my job and quietly leave. That is exactly what I did. No apologies for that.
And you forgot that it was just you standing on your soap box who didn't rebut anything I said except for you stating that you are not anti union...but there is no one on these boards that agrees with you....And every word of this post is true and undeniable.
I'm not anti anything.
The difference is when you "tell a suit to shove it" you probably no longer have a job there. When we in the Union "tell a suit to shove it" we probably go on about our business as if nothing happened.Years ago I ran into a Union Driver with a flatbed and over dinner we had a conversation. He was essentially empty for a while and not loaded in a time frame I would consider a losing proposition.
He was on the clock sitting there. Be in 2 hours, 2 days or 3 weeks or a month? As long his company was lawfully in operation he got paid.
I get paid nothing when waiting on a load. Because no one gets paid on my outfit. So why does or better yet WHAT money is paying HIM?
We parted friends, but not necessarily ones who agree on some things. Both of us were doing trucking and very similar work but the money flowed differently or not at all. And there I think lies the difference.
I am not anti union. But I would not go running after a Union either. I love my freedom to tell a suit to shove it when its necessary to do so.
