I get a kick out of people trying to make LAX out to be a legitimate company! I work for them for several years out of the Windsor terminal. It certainly didn't take new employees long to realize that LAX management was nothing more than a good old boys club! Jason Hemenway made it a point to let all the drivers know as much as he could that the strength of LAX was the office personnel. Any complaints by drivers meant banishment for the worst route the terminal had, all the slate businesses in Manchester, VT and Granville, NY. The overnight loader Scott, was given the authority of a king. Let's see, there was the frequent fuel deliveries by Collins that required a check upon delivery because they weren't paying their bills at all the terminals. The same went for RSD what it came to repairs of the tractors, pay cut and on and on. Nobody within LAX ever verified the drivers were actually doing the pretrip inspections. Sure the daily inspection sheets were being filled out but a tug test and kicking the tires with sneakers isn't considered an inspection. The only reason LAX wasn't shut down years ago is because the DOT in New England is basically nonexistent compared to the rest of the country, especially Vermont! I travel through many states that have 24/7 weigh stations. I hear people bitching about all the government interference. Well, I'll tell you I see bad accidents all the time. Some of it's caused by crappy vehicles others by drivers who have no right to be on the road in a commercial vehicle. A driver failing a drug test and the company failing to keep them off the road isn't just an oops, it's criminal. LAX didn't work for me. I couldn't stand the BS and I vowed that I would never work for a company like that again. That's why I have work for myself ever since. LAX employees should all stand up and give a big round of applause for Spencer and the company management for screwing with peoples livelihoods! The real backbone of any transportation outfit is it's drivers!
 
LAX showed revenue of $83 million but revenue is the gross. The profit or net income comes after all the deductions such as fuel, insurance, etc. are applied. It's a pretty good bet that the bottom line is written with red ink.

I still am employed and work daily at land air .. i don't have to stop looking at this thread I have more right to be on this thread than you do at this point.. you have turned your back on our company and have done nothing but complained and slammed us every day. you have shown the caliber of man you are in a crisis. what a disappointment to the rest of us land air employees

You know it's great that you want to be a company man. Others have moved on. LAX has been a sinking ship for years with management taking full advantage of their employees for their own personal gains. Anyone who thinks LAX management has his back, better pull the knife out of it. You've chosen to stay but let's face it, things can't get better when the people who have buried the company are still fully in charge. I feel bad for the non-management employees and their families, not the ownership and management nimrods who have gutted the company! It gets to a point where you can"t "take one for the team" anymore.

look I get the whole picture about the company... were things bad in the end before the shutdown... certainly, reasons we were shut down proves that. are people working on the problem now ? hell yes!! does everyone deserve a second chance? yes for sure! i'm hoping the spencer's and us workers gets that second chance! and it seems like we are.. now it doesn't happen overnite but I believe it will happen but only time will tell for sure, now I know there is no fun in that for buffalbill and jaydelay and others to give someone like bill a second chance. I don't think they have it in them to because they love to stoke the fire of misery, and I get it boys, I do, but remember this, you spoke about karma before and if you chose not to give a second chance to others then you will be judged the same fate sometime in your own lives.. life is funny that way. as for bonus pay and vacation pay, bill knows we deserve it and he owes it and I believe in time he will pay us, but right now he has to get the company stable ,so to all that is owed just have patients and try to believe in something bigger than yourselves for a change..
 
so since you are "loaning" him your last 2 years bonuses, on hopes of being paid, are you getting anything extra, or just more empty promises? maybe before you sink NE Freightways, they will pay them to you. 2 years and no bonus? spencer is laughing every time someone brings it up.....

Did you no . NO MORE paid vacation , pto , holiday if your an employee still working for land air . see they took that a way too .Whats next ? ? ? ?

this is just all speculation from you to fan the flames... but if n.e freight is invested in us, that must really bother you lol and that makes me happy!... it certainly does not bother us if it is true.. they are big boys and can make up their own mind how to do business you are the first I have read this good news from!
 
Omg. I agree with hopeful. I started on this board, layed off, not paid, angry. Three weeks now, I got two checks-no holidays. At this point-so what. I've been sending resumes out, 4 offers so far. Actually one was to come back to Lax. I declined, not out of anger. I see a better future coming, may or may not be for LAX. I know everyone still there is giving what they got to make changes for the better. I say lets wish them the best, and wait and see. Bashing them is doing no one any good now. Good luck everyone.
 
Very interesting how NE Freightways partners with LAXNE. NE Freightways has a very powerful investor here and abroad. Expect to see closures and consolidations soon. Before you know it there will be yellow vans everywhere. DHL has been alluding to this for some time now. Watch out UPS and FEDEX, here they come. LOL
