You spent all this time getting to top pay, and now you want to leave? The cameras are a non-issue..trust me. The lean does nothing to you, probably puts more money in your pocket. And dock work pays you 25/hr. And your home everyday. What gives?
The biggest reason I want to leave is the fact that my barn has no good runs. I don't know what kind of runs you have down south Beer, but the barn I'm at has only one good mileage run and you have to drive through Chicago traffic to get there. The OD terminal here has nothing but long runs and there's no dock work.
I'm sick of the culture of this place. I'm sick of the condescending college-idiot management that always has a ****ty attitude about everything and treats their drivers like dirt.
I'm sick of the dock. I don't mind running a forklift now and then, but working 5-6 hours a night on a crowded dock with a bunch of scumbag dock-workers that don't have the slightest idea how to load freight is getting to be ridiculous.
I'm sick of LEAN. All it does is suck the common sense out of everything. I don't need an SWI telling me how to do something that anyone with common sense should know how to do. And honestly I don't want to work with the idiots that think this garbage is a good idea.
The first 2-3 years I worked here, it was decent. Back then, the dispatchers and managers were former drivers and knew what this job entailed and how to do it. They listened to their drivers and took their opinions into account.
Honestly the only reason I've stayed this last year is because my wife was pregnant. now that the baby is here and the medical bills are paid, I'm free to leave.
But the REAL REASON I don't want to stay here... I've seen how far downhill it's gone in just the last couple years, and I'm honestly scared to think what it will be like in another couple years...
Yeah, it's great to be on top pay and be making bank, but I don't know how much longer I can take it...
