Yellow | Big Bonuses For Welch, Pierson, And Friel! Harry Wilson Jumps Ship!

jimmy we may be more alike than you are willing to admit .no surrender no retreat !!!!

No Prob-I admit it. I'd rather face an adversary anytime face to face than someone sneaking behind my back. I'll buy you a drink anytime. Then fight you for the next one! :biglaugh:

That's almost a direct quote from Marx's Manifesto on Communism, 1848 (translated). No one 'took' anything from labor. They rewarded them with continued employment in exchange for lower wages paid.... No one has to like it- just the way it is/was.... as you said- from gloom and doom to a glimmer of hope....

"They" didn't reward anybody, "they" like labor are employees, "they" do not own the company any more than labor does, so "they" are in no position to be credited with bestowing employment upon the peasants. This was pretty much a redistribution of wealth, something you rail against, but in reverse. Compensation was taken from the peasants, compensation was given to "they".

That's Marxian. Marx's theory was that the rich only got that way because they stole the labor (thus riches) from the workers. There was no compensation taken from the peasants. YRC is the owner of jobs needing done. They contract with the IBT to get those jobs completed. IBT members agreed to do those jobs in return for the compensation YRC offered as a requirement for said job. That makes it no sacrifice given. No one forced anyone to agree to said wage. Everyone that takes said wage agrees to it daily when clocking in- or not agreeing to it when resigning (as I did). Redistribution of wealth is siezing wealth, can only be done by Government, under the threat of siezed property, death or imprisonment. This is 100% voluntary negotiated Capitalism between private enterprises....

SC: We both know that it doesn't affect me (except for the broke Central States Pension that I'll probably see reduced or gone).... It is just that my pet peeve is jealousy clouding the minds of the weak so they believe THEY GAVE money in the funding of the company- which is completely BOGUS. It gets me involved most times..... Carry On, as I go back on my own self-imposed semi-vacation..... :regretful:

maybe we should make this a board only for guys that have ever had to get thier hands dirty

Screen name EX396 as in LOCAL 396. Not afraid to get dirty.

I have an often unpopular or controversial opinion on many topics here on this site. I use a screen name so that my opinions don't have a negative impact on those that I have a professional relationship with that don't share my same opinon. It's called being responsible.

I hear the 'sacrificed' word used on here. No sacrifice being made. I doubt any of you (except spaghetti or bigtruk) expects to be drug to the conference room and beaten or beheaded because of your vote. I doubt any of you worry about bombs on your forklift, or that your family will be imprisoned for your vote. I doubt you crossed a line of snarling police dogs or water cannons coming to clock in. Each employee that clocks in agrees to the conditions of the job and benefits the reward of a paycheck in exchange for one's labor. Unless you issued YRC a certified check written from your personal account, you gave nothing back. I doubt a single person refused the bonus check because 'YRC needed it more than I'... keep it in perspective. no one is getting hurt, compared to True Sacrifice. 99% of the world would give almost anything to have what we have! Teamsters are part of the 1% you guys complain about...

You still don't get it.. You and I do not receive checks anymore from YRCW.. I recently retired but they still had on my final checks "Equity wages" Money that was TAKEN out or reduced my check.. Oh and to let you know my pension was greatly reduced again due to the financial crap at YRCW. and getting no credits for the last few years.. You remind me of another that used to be here promoting the same agenda.. "Joe the Plumber" Only thing he was worried about was his pension.. Sound familiar ?? This whole thing about be thankful you have a job is just another hit to labor.. We are not the rest of the world so to make that your comparison is wrong.. Have you been to third world countries?? Have you been to Europe?? I have and we are not living like the elite anymore.. We deal with the cards that God gives us.. no matter where we live..

You just proved my point and gave my post validation. Thank You! :regretful: show me your wage and earning statement. You were taxed on the final amount. You gave back nothing.

There are 35 states where Welfare pays more than minimum wage and the reality is Welfare isn't going away. Capitalism is the best system around but it can't flourish when the fruits of the system go to the few at the top while the powerless at the bottom are squeezed. The working poor, people that get up everyday and do a days work just like you do and live below poverty are a disgrace on our country. That's my position, if you want to label me a Marxist for that, then OK.

Capitalism works in a Moral Society that has a conscience. That's no longer the USA. Churches and Charities failed because of Government involvement. It's the duty of citizens to accept personal responsibility for themselves and others. Collectivist Governance always collapses by siezing all the wealth- then there's nothing left to tax.

We all need to be more generous. The sense of Entitlent is a disease born of Envy- a deadly sin. Try as we may as humans- The Poor will always be with us.

I didn't define you as Marxist- your talking points from Manifesto on Communism did. I can link them this weekend if I need to...

Once a person or government starts deciding the amount someone else 'deserves' (minimum OR maximum) they set themselves up as (small g) god. The Decider- the Provider. The government that can provide all your needs can take them all away.

Whether or not one is a follower of Christ I find it wise to heed: 'seek first the kingdom of heaven (a moral loving society) and all your needs will be provided.'. Satan doesn't recognise individuality- hence we're referred to as numbers in a Socialistic society- and all are restricted to a base equality except the Social Rulers. Be careful what you ask for. We could become North Korea...

If they are "NOT" taking it back, then why is it shown on the paystubs.. I don't care about what has been taxed as I more care about what has been deducted.. So in reality you proved my point.. Or is there a point to be made.. Kinda like is the glass half full or is it half empty..

They can call it a trillion if they want- when they 'take it back' except for your pay it's only Washington-type accounting. It's not real. And since it never crossed your palm it was never yours. So you gave nothing. The money doesn't exist. They asked you to accept less because their cash flow is lower. I went by Roe Ave yesterday and took pics of YRC's building. There was no pile of money outside... think i'll call you 'crazy'! :LMAO:

No need jimmy, being in my senior years my perspective has been formed by a lifetime of experience and I have no interest in reading other peoples manifestoes. I grew up in a different time in our country, a time when bosses would give an employee a raise if they had another kid, when a grocery store clerk could own a home, buy a new car every now and then, it's gone now, today's capitalism has no moral compass. If you've ever watched Undercover Boss and you see a CEO that finds out they have a hard working employee that's dealing with a disabled child, an aging parent or some other struggle and they give them money, or buy them a house, why is it they are so generous and compassionate only when the cameras are on them? Why should they do that at all? Why can't they just do what they would do without the cameras on them, tell them to suck it up and take personal responsibility.

Like I said- the USA's moral compass has been replaced with 'Government'll do it'.... that comes from Marx. our education system has been edging that direction since Woodrow Wilson's term. Now- Common Core demands it for my grandkids...the schools will point kids to be a CEO or a ditch digger before the sixth grade....

SC- think of this (while lecturing that CEOS are greedy): when we were kids- people wanted to be like Ike. We wanted to make the world better and safer. Kids prayed in school and saluted the flag. Fast forward to this forum: 'shut er down- i'll live on unemployment!'. Which was more greedy???

The fruits of the system are going to pay all those millions and millions of people on welfare doing nothing while receiving more than many on minimum wage.

Reduce my corporate and personal income taxes so that I am not supporting those who don't work and I will use that money to hire more folks who will in turn create more revenue and more profit. It's a win-win.

Corporations are raking in huge profits, they are sitting on the cash or buying back their own stock or paying it out in dividends while shrinking their operations, there is no CAPEX spending going on, so save that "I will use that money to hire more folks" crap for someone more gullible.

Corporations are spending money where it makes them more money. When there is too much government meddling/regulation/expense involved in hiring additional employees it makes hiring additional employees more headache than it's worth. When hiring additional employees will put more money in my pocket that's exactly what I will do. To think otherwise is ignorant of my thought process, not gullible.
