Central Transport | FedEx big wigs.

the buy out wont happen quickly, fed ex looks out 5 years in advance, consolidating companies has become the norm in america, thats how a socialist america can keep better track of its people, you will see suttle changes as time goes on, like seniority, road or city you decide, but once you do your stuck, no going back and forth, welcome vitrex brothers

You can bid road or city at FedEx...just be prepared to lose your board seniority.

of course, it is all about the socialism and keeping track of smelly ass truck drivers...I should have known. I wish we were socialist, Sweden's economy is doing quite well :)

So if you switch over you are not lateral, you start at the bottom again?

at viscam if you switch, you lose your seniority for one year. but you know how they make rules as they go. i seen city drivers wanting to go to linehaul when there's openings and are denied, they get people off the street. this place is arse backwards from top to bottom and has a rain cloud over it like shleprock.

Basically, if you're top dog on the road board and switch to city, you go to the bottom. No one year deal. Bottom. I'm just guessing, but I imagine it's set up that way to keep guys from bidding road during the summer, then switching to city during the winter (or vice versa).

Had that at another place I worked, those few really caused a lot of turnover on the lower end of the list. We here have once a year bids, and that is where you stay for the year (well, exclusions do happen, freight demands put a line haul on P&D for 3 months once)

You can switch back and forth, if there is an opening, but you start at the bottom each time. You can not bid city if you're on the road board, you have to transfer boards.

Vitran has no rule book, ever since "pjax" came into the vitran world, managemnet hasn't given new hires rule books, policy books, etc. when I started I got a 200 pages of rules poilicies and insurance Q&A. so you can ask one manager to the next and they will both have differnt answers for you as for how things work witha lot of issues. more less its on a personal "managerial" opinion, for how the rules go..........
