Conway is/was bloated and way over managed. Start cutting some of these mangers. We don't need this many and most of them don't know what they are doing anyway.

Looks like the sales people are having to give up their company vehicles. I've seen two so far parked next to the fence on the inside of our yard.

Heard a total of 300 people were fired on Friday the 30th. All the sales people in Mississippi and a regional sale manger in the Nashville TN area. And all Vp's and There are more to come.
If You have a job con-way that XPO already had someone doing you better be worried. I heard they told the sales people that xpo already had sales people in the state of Mississippi . That's why they were fired.

Also heard that in Rome GA and other loctions in Ga they made the sales people park the cars at the terminal and they had to find a ride home.

I wonder how much Con-way spent on the sales fleet every year.

I hope they make the terminal managers park their cars. I don't think picking up a driver out of hours, twice a year, justifies them having a company car. With the 70hr a week log, our terminal manager hasn't picked anyone up in over a year. He drives it back and forth to work, that's it. Save the money

The further you are away from the freight, the more likely you will be out of work.

Cheaper to own a fleet of cars for sales calls ? Or rent to use ? Typical sales calls are low key. Maybe if you were having some big meeting with a potential new client you would roll in with something sparkly.

Company cars are a pretty common standard perk for sales people in most fields.

Without those you are less likely to be competitive in retaining quality salespeople.

What were they using for company cars? Were they overly sparkly? Ours are pretty low-key.

What about ""personal supervisor" I know we had one at our terminal(when I was still at Conway) he mostly did our cookouts and vacation request. Do you think some will be let go. Our Ops manger or terminal manager takes care of hiring and meetings at current employer. Just your thoughts. Hoping for the best for you all good luck on y'all new adventure!

That's probably true. Also, anyone whose job title doesn't explain exactly what he does is probably in trouble (Lean Manager, Project Manager, etc.), as well as anyone with Sr. in their title. Just my guesses.

250 jobs cut Friday, more to come, lean is gone, like I have said for years to top heavy in management! Focused on management rather than the drivers! As a driver it has to be better than we had! No more lostway!!! Or Conway
