I'll make a post here just to test if a non R&L person can post. lol
Hey top you know the point I was trying to make right right.:smilie_132:
I'll make a post here just to test if a non R&L person can post. lol
you guys definitely don't work at the scranton terminal. just because you have all your deliveries and pick-ups done in your area doesn't mean you get to go home. you either have to go into someone elses area for pick-ups or go get drop trailers. before i went linehaul, in almost 3 years as a city driver, i can count the number of 8 hour work days on my one hand.
I thought you guys we're team players, watch out Sling, Mr Braceface is gonna be all over you about that post But your right, I learned the more you do the more they stick it to ya, so we old timers pace ourselves considering that they have to watch every drivers hours so they don't get too many which is fine with me. Bottom line- the work gets done where i'm peddling atEasy way to solve that problem. Just stop calling in early. Make a note of where they like to send you the most and how long it takes you to get there. Then just don't call in until enough time passed that those places would be closed by the time you got to them.
You just have to learn to work the system. I figured it out real fast after I got screwed a few times like that.

Bottom line here, as with you, the job gets done, the freight is delivered and picked up...
Well, that's fine. But let other people do their own work. I'm not picking up anyone elses slack if I can avoid it.
I have heard they are looking at the way we are dispatched. That is one of the reasons for the GPS, to see how efficiently the dispatchers are utilizing the us.I would say, in this day and time, do what the dispatcher says...Even if it is picking up someone elses slack...With thses sattelites tracking us, the slackers aren't gonna be around long...
Your right!!!!! The guys that run around and never take breaks are only hurting themselves.... Those same guys are always crying that the company will not get them any help DUH!!!!!!!!!!I thought you guys we're team players, watch out Sling, Mr Braceface is gonna be all over you about that post But your right, I learned the more you do the more they stick it to ya, so we old timers pace ourselves considering that they have to watch every drivers hours so they don't get too many which is fine with me. Thats all a guy can do, do your job!!!!!You nailed that one Duck.... I get my job done in a timely manner and I still have to pick up the slack for someone else...BECAUSE, I truly believe the dispatcher has A.D.D. He is constantly forgetting to hand out pickups and than expects you to zip around to make up for his mistakes. I will not speed!!! I will however do my job to the best of my ability.
I too get sick of the daily whining about this and that...Go out and do your job. You are only hurting yourself mentally and physically with all the *****ing and moaning. If you don't like your job at R+L...well, you know the answer to that one...
Towne Air Freight....ah the memories!
I recall when I was a dispatcher for Towne and they finally got rid of all the company drivers (the ones saying that Towne would NEVER EVER replace them with lease drivers). Well one day each P&D driver returning to the yard was told to dock the trailer and clean out his truck and that his services were no longer required. A patrol car was on hand to escort drivers off the premises.
These wern't slackers...these were guys with 10,15,20 years experience and loyal to the company...POOF!...tossed to the curb in the blink of an eye!
What is a po dunk?things are tough all over, do we want to drive for yellow??? overnite??? or even the po dunks like central frt. not me, i'm stayin hammer down.
I agree with PJ. things are tough all over. Not everything is perfect but we have a much brighter future here then most.
This is not a good sign!!!!!! Have they done this with other drivers or just you?????I got pulled in the office and they went over what write ups that I have had since I have been here and the only thing that I need to do is that slow down and go over all my paper work I don't need a day off yes I think I am talking out side box but what to do.
