I bet you voted for him though

I'll say it again:

It is obvious that many of you who are so bold in your comments have never had to really experience financial hardship through no fault of your own. If you did have the experience, your comments would not show the obvious broad lack of understanding you have on this issue. Some of you set yourselves up on this high horse and flash your experience (or lack thereof) as some kind of badge of honor, while putting down those that are in this situation as though they are wearing a badge of shame. I have to wonder why someone has to work 6 days a week? They either have no life or need the money because they are living beyond their means.
Just so you know I have been homeless and lived in a tent had no reportable income for one year have had the salvation army buy Christmas for my childern ( thanks Jimmy) had my own business lost my own business and pissed away more good jobs than most of you will ever have at least if you are smart and ride this thru, some of even the smart ones won't be able to but they will survive, All in all it has always been my fault the good and the bad. Today I live good but save better It is not how many times you fall but how many times you get up max out

guys i drive southeastern.....our rotation system seems to be working ok......i am at the top side of the board and i do not mind rotating with junior drivers....seems fair to me...easy system....our tm does a good job with this.....road only and city only....no board jumping...just trying to help....
I'm glad for you ...

Thats why you work there .... and I don't

Well thats actually a good point and I see where you are going with it but ya see its about having all to suffer equally, and not giving to those for the mere fact they happened to be at the right place at the right time.

Redistribution is not fair when you take from those who have worked hard to get rich and give it to those who have done nothing to deserve it. Totally different but nice try :loser:
I'm sorry but,,, WHAT?

JEFF

You still have not convinced me .... closet liberal .... thats a good one !

so you think it's fair for the top city drivers to have their earnings reduced, dock guys same, red shirts reduced, sales too probably, not positive, but the top 50% of road drivers should be immune?

When a city drivers hours are cut they spread that hour to others to prevent a layoff....
All feel the pain but on the road it's not the case when you are in the top 50-70% you don't have to give up anything at all.

give me 4 days a week i will still be doing fine, but i dont see fedex doing that though anytime soon.

As long as we are talking about doing the right thing let's discuss some things that might help us all survive this the next four years. This is mostly from a road driver perspective. Yesterday I was talking to a fellow driver and he said " those yahoos sent a STL trailer with my meet man I asked him why?, he said he just follows his dispatch orders, so I just bought it home too." Now the problem is this it came from Nas to Rki I guess about 500 miles out of route (try doing that on your run) The next problem is the new Effingham center is probably less than 20 miles from meet point. I asked the driver if he made any attempt to do anything about it he said heck no and he had a grin on his face the whole time. Nas has runs to stl but i guess they were over but had to get that trailer out rki ran an extra run that night. Good for a singular driver but good for the whole? This same driver said this was not the first time they have done such things. I know these things happen and some of us have tried to correct it only to be told to follow the dispatch. I know for one I have been there and said "Okay I tried, so be it!" Yeah there are dummies in dispatch too, or so I'v been told. All I'm saying is maybe we all should try harder to help save a penny were we can. I know it can be tough when it seems Fed-Ex trips over dimes picking up nickles. Call a couple of times instead of taking one dummie's word for it maybe if you are damn sure something is wrong call some other than dispatch. I know of cases were a night driver fuels at the beginning of a run and at the end just for the extra fifteen minutes pay, or at least I'v been told. Or the driver that insist he makes what he has coming as if the whole week ran his schedule, if anything less he says he has ways to make up any losses other wise. Or the one who scans in to work the dock and does any thing but, even after the senoir dock supervisor said he was not needed they scanned in and the redshirt said "Oh well" He was too chicken %$#@ to do anything about it. Or so I'v been told. No one does anything about a cheat because it's not "our place". Drivers that charge for every thing they can get away with fair or not. In 25 pages of this thread have I seen not one of you say what you do to make this a more profitable company but instead what we all can do you more profitable. Life is what we make it or so I'v been told, max out

I'm glad someone brought this up. When its 7f outside, a man can wear himself out just cranking up the fricken landing gear.
Yeah crank for awhile then do your walk around then crank somemore pull up to sign out and then crank the rest of way up. cranking down is not much better i seen some big boys sweating to the oldies this week

Racehorse( I was waiting for someone from Southeastern to state their policy.... Good for u for speaking out on it)

Does anybody need to say more! My point exactly!!!
All the senior egos you can now put them aside and read the post to see how things should be done @ Fed Ex Freight. Alot of the ego-maniacs around here think that just because of their senority people below them should just die or get starved out! I think not & so do the majority... The company took a hit with this economy & so should everyone. Not just the guy or girl below you.
that would be nice but in fedex world they love this type of stuff going on having it split like this and u just dont get it!

Most of the gravy this past week has been up to my *** and frozen there just ask the road driver that spent four hours in his truck froze up along I 80 and the mercury 10 -15 below zero In weather like we have had this winter ( thanks Al) you city pukes can hid in some wharehouse or hamburger joint or were ever you can chat up some little cutie on the shipping dock but the road driver drives thru the so called gravy because we don't shut down till the state dot says we do. Just ask central to shut down and find out, hell one of thier own has to crash on the way to work before they even consider that, you must leave the yard no matter what the condition unless central says differant that doesn't mean I run to the first stop and holler I'm stuck I'll be inside talking cute little butt on the fork truck. by now I hope you are just about to pop. Listen there are no easy jobs there is no gravy unless of course you are in charge swedish bikinee swim team wardrobe. and certainly nobody has it easier nor harder than the other, each has it good and bad points the sooner you learn this the sooner you grow up. I came to work to work for me and mine and just like you I have plans plans for today plans for tomarrow and plans for when I don't work anymore and very few of these plans involve anyone here. I work here so I can persue the AMERICAN DREAM not some socialist group home thing. Yes I want the forty thousand dollar truck I want the 500,000 dollar home the ten thousand dollar vacation in the islands and what ever I want I work for I don't ask for you or anyone else to share in the cost I was not born into this top percent of the board I worked my way there. In the past I took days off with out PAY just to have some twit say oh yeah you'll take friday off so you can have a three day weekend. So that came to a stop for awhile. Since the week of Christmas this past week is the first full week that I worked by my own choice other than one or two days of work and holiday pay I put in for no personal pay I ate those days and the more I read these post the more I wonder why and the only answer I have is I'm lazy so okay you caught me. That's right it is all about me and mine. If I wanted to worry about you I would start a commune oh yeah we all know how that turned last time with the women and stuff ahh never mind about that, any way grow up guys and gals. Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans. When times are good I don't see you guys throwing a little extra cash in my 401k so I can retire that much earlier come on show a little charity here. And for crying out loud quit posting like you are texting use full adult words WEML
max out

Don't know what Co you work for... On any of the above comments you, DRIVER are off in left field. Disgruntled even.

1) Not too many "city pukes" can get away with any of the crap you mentioned.
2) Driver has the FINAL say as to weather it's safe enough to roll. YOU should know that. In fact it's been my expierience that FedEx will shut you down (and not let you leave center) long before most drivers would deem unsafe.

Since you brought up screw-offs, I've seen many a big time road driver wait around 20-30min for someone to flip placards, unhook a tractor or get dispatch to sign the log book to get paid for it. Really though, we're getting way, WAY off topic here.

Back to your regularly scheduled rants
