FedEx Freight | Hot Button Topic -Top Road Drivers Feel No Economic Pain

I wouldnt say that some peoples wifes may be out of work and its all on them to step up,And those drivers working weekends ill bet you its a HUB and good luck trying to get work from a end of the line center, take that up with your cm,And as for friday i said befor the guys at my barn want to cry there not working when you try to give them a day they dont want it they want off so thats on them..
Don't you know you make less on Friday Nights? Darn Fedex rules!

You arent being honest either. This company has grown by leaps and bounds in the last 5-6 years. Tell me driver, what dues did you pay exactly?

Like i told you i was here when we were AF long before FDX alot longer then 6years so what do you know, And i did say my dues when i was at the bottom working 1 to 2 days a week i got a part time JOB to get bye,you would know that if you were reading all the post...You have alot to say about everything everyone is doing i think you should tell your RVP you want his job because he dont know what he is doing you know how to fix all the problems..

You seem angry, maybe you should work less so I can work more.

everyone in here crying about not working should go out and finance a new tv from circuit city to keep the 30,000 people from loseing there job. if your not working you have to find a job that you can work, that is the way the economy works. everyone is out for a paycheck if your not getting one we cant help you talk to fred

I'll say it again:

It is obvious that many of you who are so bold in your comments have never had to really experience financial hardship through no fault of your own. If you did have the experience, your comments would not show the obvious broad lack of understanding you have on this issue. Some of you set yourselves up on this high horse and flash your experience (or lack thereof) as some kind of badge of honor, while putting down those that are in this situation as though they are wearing a badge of shame. I have to wonder why someone has to work 6 days a week? They either have no life or need the money because they are living beyond their means.

HARDSHIP try having no where to live or a pot to pee in I have done it all by my self with hard work im not trying to say we all dont work but im sick of all the B.S. i try to help guys at my barn they dont want it or they try to get you fired for a move up........OH YA NO ONE HELP ME GET BACK ON MY FEET I DID IT MY SELF, and the road drivers earley on mon nite and finsh on sat mor,The guys taking runs from the hub that have worked all week i agree with you they should not..

JEFF,
when we all started we had the opportunity to go on the road or city, or could have bid the road "back in the busy times" as our center bids a couple times a year.all the city guys complain that the road guys make so much money but they had the chance to join that board

Really? is that how all that got started? Well I be damn :biglaugh:

City drivers have always complained about our wages (road drivers).I have seen some of these drivers switch to the road, then go back to the city because it wasnt as good as they thought it was.You chose your position now deal with it or jump ship.
I just remembered i have to fix the flat on my wheel barrow so i can carry my check home friday.

Buster night mare

Greedy because seniority should be respected ? Let me see, I should only be allowed to work 4 days a week after 28 years of service because the new hire that started last year is only getting 3 days of work per week. Can't you see how foolish this is?

Hey knuckle head I haven't been around for 1 year. I've been around going on 7 years. The company feels the pain now & has for a while! Why shouldn't everyone share the pain? Better yet in your case if you've been around 28 years. ISNT IT TIME FOR YOU TO RETIRE NOW!!!!! Oh, I forgot you're in that top 50 - 70 %. You must be above the law!:smilie_132:

From trying to read all the post (a bunch of them) I realize that the greedy people are the havenots ... that want what the haves ...... have!

I see a lot of drivers trying to slide work.

I see some newer divers that think ...THEY ... are owed (not all)

If you are a old city hand ..new to the road ...YOUR A NEW DRVER!
the same for road to city.

Just thinking out loud!

guys i drive southeastern.....our rotation system seems to be working ok......i am at the top side of the board and i do not mind rotating with junior drivers....seems fair to me...easy system....our tm does a good job with this.....road only and city only....no board jumping...just trying to help....

Southeastern IS one of the few outfits left that still treats drivers like people (in most all areas of operation), rather than just a number that can be "adjusted as needed".

Good for yall SE, :waycool:

All the greed mongers look @ this post!

Racehorse( I was waiting for someone from Southeastern to state their policy.... Good for u for speaking out on it)

Does anybody need to say more! My point exactly!!!
All the senior egos you can now put them aside and read the post to see how things should be done @ Fed Ex Freight. Alot of the ego-maniacs around here think that just because of their senority people below them should just die or get starved out! I think not & so do the majority... The company took a hit with this economy & so should everyone. Not just the guy or girl below you.

If its gravy, you should have chose to be a road driver then.
Most of the gravy this past week has been up to my *** and frozen there just ask the road driver that spent four hours in his truck froze up along I 80 and the mercury 10 -15 below zero In weather like we have had this winter ( thanks Al) you city pukes can hid in some wharehouse or hamburger joint or were ever you can chat up some little cutie on the shipping dock but the road driver drives thru the so called gravy because we don't shut down till the state dot says we do. Just ask central to shut down and find out, hell one of thier own has to crash on the way to work before they even consider that, you must leave the yard no matter what the condition unless central says differant that doesn't mean I run to the first stop and holler I'm stuck I'll be inside talking cute little butt on the fork truck. by now I hope you are just about to pop. Listen there are no easy jobs there is no gravy unless of course you are in charge swedish bikinee swim team wardrobe. and certainly nobody has it easier nor harder than the other, each has it good and bad points the sooner you learn this the sooner you grow up. I came to work to work for me and mine and just like you I have plans plans for today plans for tomarrow and plans for when I don't work anymore and very few of these plans involve anyone here. I work here so I can persue the AMERICAN DREAM not some socialist group home thing. Yes I want the forty thousand dollar truck I want the 500,000 dollar home the ten thousand dollar vacation in the islands and what ever I want I work for I don't ask for you or anyone else to share in the cost I was not born into this top percent of the board I worked my way there. In the past I took days off with out PAY just to have some twit say oh yeah you'll take friday off so you can have a three day weekend. So that came to a stop for awhile. Since the week of Christmas this past week is the first full week that I worked by my own choice other than one or two days of work and holiday pay I put in for no personal pay I ate those days and the more I read these post the more I wonder why and the only answer I have is I'm lazy so okay you caught me. That's right it is all about me and mine. If I wanted to worry about you I would start a commune oh yeah we all know how that turned last time with the women and stuff ahh never mind about that, any way grow up guys and gals. Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans. When times are good I don't see you guys throwing a little extra cash in my 401k so I can retire that much earlier come on show a little charity here. And for crying out loud quit posting like you are texting use full adult words WEML
max out
