Just so you all know, I was informed on the Saturday meeting results by an employee of Lincon RI terminal shortly ago via PM.

Meeting held with Sec/Tres Stu M. Local 251
27 city drivers, 12 Road drivers
21 cards signed.

It has been determined that Overnite employees will keep their Overnite pension.
Upon becoming Teamster the proposal is 3 for 1. That's right, 3 years credit for one year served. That will mean for every year that is paid into the pension for you, you will receive three pension fund credit. You must however contribute for five years (actual) to be vested. For the many former Teamster at Lincoln this is a winfall and a no-brainer.
One individual walked out of meeting stating he is retiring in 4 years and doesn't want to put in the additional year and be part of the Teamsters

New TM is used to working in a union enviroment along with the inbound Super Harvey C.

Conference call meeting is on either Tuesday or Wednesday and I will be give more info. I have also been invited to their next meeting with the Local.

As always I support all those individauls out here that are striving to make their lives a better place to live and work.

No mention of the NMFA or if an agreement will be reached seperatly. If an agreement is reached seperatly it will probally be better than the NMFA. I see UPS giving you a higher pension contribution and rate of pay.

Stay tuned T251

You'll probally won't have to settle for less, but proablly won't be apart of NMFA until after 2008 or depending on lentgh of any agreement that may come.
More info will come out on this later.
Be patient, good things are coming.

Yes thats a big 10-4 from me as well.

Now let me figure this out?
I'm right around 62 &1/2 now,so by the time we are Teamsters and have a signed contract by our parent company UPS.
I may well be 63,now if God keeps blessing me with the good health he's allowed me to have at this point in time.
You say I've got to put in another 5 years.
So I'll be able to retire with my old 20 year credit Teamster pension,
I'll also have 3 years for every 1 year worked times 5 years, that will give me an additional 15,and my full social security age is 66 &1/2.
I'll be setting pretty at age 68.

I started driving trucks for a living at 19,so that will give me 49 years.
I'll have to see how I feel by than maybe I'll make it an even 50.

Why I can deal with this plan, and if God calls me up to heaven before I retire, at least my wife will make out.

As always only time will tell!

It has been laid out that you keep your overnite pension and 401k as it can not be touched by law. It will be frozen. You will now start a new teamster pension and they are going to give you 2 additional years for each year until you reach your year of service. (1,2,3,4,5) (2,4,6,8,10). At 5 years you will have 10 years plus the 5 vested (15 credits) So when you retire you will have 2 pensions.

I am not understanding this. T251 said and I quote " you are getting 3 for 1". This means we are getting for every 1 year of service with "O" now UPSF. You will be getting 3 years towards 100% vestment into theTeamster's Pention Fund.

Correct?.

My new jobclass is "Freight Redundancy Specialist".

This Person will have the ability
to tolerate mentally challenged dispatchers
who excell in the art of ignorance redundancy,
and can withstand driving 18 wheelers at
top end speeds in circles.

gb251 that gives me old Teamster years..

new Teamster years, the 20 years I've earned at Overnite, and also my social security benefits if theres still any SSI to be had.

I already blew all of my 401-K on high interest credit card debt.

3 pensions, and SSI should do me,as long as my wife gives me a break on her spending habits.

I'm not ready to retire now,but by the time I'm 68 it maybe time to kick back, and enjoy.

You can say anything you want but we need it in writing before we believe anything you guys say........It's our future ...........Show us in writing.....

The way I understood 251's post is, Your "O" pension freezes and you will get those years of service when you retire. Then when you complete 5 years vested in the teamsters plan you will get 3 to 1. In other words five full years will be 15 years of credit.

This is why I keep saying relax, What an opportunity to see this strong contract that is agreed apon by all partys. And then you can decide for your self if you want any part of it. This was the Idea to negotiate a strong contract with one group and build on its victory with other terminals.

Buster,
Johnnyboy knows that....he just can't resist pouring out his one-line zinger posts which are redundant and mostly senseless.

Yes, Maybe he has more vacation time left. It was a nice break!!!!

And our time at MC means nothing? I have 11 years in that pension, it is worthless but my time means every bit as much as an O employee..... Or is this like the mileage pay, we can do the same job for less money and will be caught up in time?

Greezy, Im not sure, But we all are considerd an "O" MC, UPSF employee and I do not see why this would be any different for the MC pension holders. Excluding the represented terminals.
