Yellow | not bluffing

I appreciate that, thank you. But I'd rather have just 6 monthes in the White House. I'd have the people so worked up these politicians would be running for their miserable useless lives. How, just by telling the American people the truth. And the first thing I'd do is audit the pos federal reserve, can you imagine where all "our" tax dollars have gone in the last 97 years! They've never had an audit. Then yrc, then zollars! Then bring all our guys home and put them on the border and leave afghanistan a present of a couple of thousand daisy cutters, all dropped at once. Whatta ya think? with ya 100% Turbo !!

Hey everybody, I am not a teamster, but I am a driver, I have been in this industry for about 15 years and driving in gneral longer, i truely regret the position you all are in. I was a t CF when Nations Way went under, and allthe drivers that were there were welcomed at yrc, cf and abf even overnite, with open arms... When CF went under, I was at Overnite, again I saw all the other carriers, union and non-union alike open their gates and bring the workers in, To my knowledge there were very few, if any in the Texas area who did't find a job if they want it. What I am trying to say is that YRC moves 45,000 bills aday, ALL and I do mean ALL the workers HAVE to be absorbed by other companies. There is no way that the customers can be serviced without other freight companies hiring an equal amount of drivers to those that are lost. I hope that each of you makes the decision that is best for you and your family. I wish you god speed

Seeing that picture reminded me of how often you'd do a home delivery as your last stop(tread mill, piece of s, opps force of habit, furniture, etc)and the customer would ask "you came all the way from Commiefornia with just that on the truck? Yes ma'am, the shipper said you had to have it today. Did that make them feel special, many times got a tip too!
A lot of our Holland trailers are plated for Tennessee. I've had several customers ask if I was from Tennessee when they seen the plate. So I throw out my best Southern accent, and feed them a line of B.S. about the long trip that I NEVER took. Then of course I laugh at them, and tell them the truth with my Canadian accent.

My bio is complete. I want to clarify that YRCW is a publicly traded company and as such all financial transactions must be reported to the SEC. And those reports are available for review by anyone who cares to investigate YRCW financial condition. My sister has worked in the banking industry all her life. She currently works in commercial banking at Northern Trust in Chicago. I asked her whether YRCW would be able to conceal assets. I was not surprised to hear her answer, no they cannot. YRCW is BROKE, in fact they are well beyond broke. That is why our International Union has agreed to what everyone would agree are extreme measures to try to keep YRCW from going out of business. Make no mistake neither YRCW or the IBT is bluffing here there will not be new negotiations. This is the last, best and most importantly final proposal.

Let me just say, Im a 50yr old single Dad with custody of my Autistic son... I really depend on the medical for my son, especially with the specialist i need to take him too! But with that said, Enough is Enough! I have Bankruptcy papers here ready to fill out, I will do what i need to do to give my son everything he needs to have the best life he can have! But bending over and taking it from YRC with this option is even more then im willing to take! I will take my chances voting no and finding a more secure job, hopefully out of this industry! I'm sure i will end up using state medical for my son, but hopefully that will be temporary!
I've survived 2 company's closing there doors, I know you have to live with the shock factor, then you decide if you want to go right back out in the same rat race, take time and collect unemployment, or just get out of LTL all together. but whatever you chose to do, you adapt, complain, tighten your belt, and move on! the world doesn't end!
Fear sucks!! but Shame you have to live with for a life time! and I will not Shame myself,.. My Family,.. or my fellow brothers by even considering destroying whats left of this Union by voting Yes to this Power trip, Union Busting, Stab in the back contract!
I dont know whats going on in drivers minds or there world that would ever vote yes for this, But I had to tell my story to let them know, there not alone with problems! but this is not the answer! in fact, this would probably make things worse! it will make you part of the working poor! you'll make just a few dollars too much to get any State and federal help, yet you wont be able to make it with what your making here! and with the cut in the medical contributions.. what your hoping to save will self destruct!
My Vote is NO!!!

Cut in medical ? Um ,they agreed to an INCREASE in medical. You are misinformed. I seriously suggest you attend your locals meeting. And state aid is no where near what we teamsters get. My son sure found that out. Hope your son doesn't need much medical help. And that you have tens of thousands of dollars stashed away to pay the deductibles.

some1 doesnt want to understand that the little bit they want to add to h/w still makes them way behind what they are suppose to be getting. most h/w have added cash payments from teamsters for anything you need done .not even counting how much the co=pays for rx have sky rocketed already . with just the 35c im sure the co-pays will continue to incress also

WOW, did you not read the master freight agreement?...... your book might be different, but in my book, its page 187... the company is suppose to be raising the contribution by $1.00 a year......the 35 cent increase that you are referring to is actually a 65 cent per hour decrease. at 40 hours a week, by the 5th year of this thing, your looking at $130.00 a week less then what they should be paying into it... you can do the math. 65 cents a hour they wont be paying per hour, times 5 years, thats $3.25. times 40 hours a week, thats $130.00 less a week.. $520.00 a month... with that kind of reduction do you think any of us will be able to keep the medical we have now???????

One last time for the dyslectics here , from the TDU website...
The 15% wage concession would continue for 4.5 years, with annual increases of 40c-45c-40c-40c, minus the 15%. Health and welfare continue as at present, with annual bumps of 35c to keep it funded.

Bumps..this means in addition to what has already been agreed to ..don't take my word for it , ask your B.A. at the meeting.

what it is at present!!!! there "bump" of 35 cents is "IN PLACE OF" not in addition to the $1.00 bump that is in the contract.

Great post

My wife lost her 100K a year job 4 months ago so we're really struggling to make ends meet, she's way over qualified for most jobs out there right now, occasionally she does consulting for a law firm but only charges $45 an hour, she says that's cheap! Anyways she's not getting hired anytime soon so BK is imminent for us. I'm getting out of this Godforsaken industry once and for all, I have other skills that I can pursue, kinda scary at 52 but in the long run I'm confident it'll all be worth it.

The USF companies , collectively , were losing money when Yellow bought them. Everyone wondered why buy such a worthless group. Now , after all these years of pumping them up with equipment , freight and cash , they finally turn a profit and the people over there think they are something special. Give me a break. All that being said , I will not be surprised to see them sold very soon.

you guys would have been long gone if it weren't for the holland group paying your f...ing bills

I think NO WAY NO HOW answered correctly with his responce........ Just wanted to add, With all the mis-information the union puts out and the way the members understand what they think it means, Is the way these concessions pass..........You can't tell this guy no matter how you try that we are losing 65 cents an hour per year on H&W. He already has his mind made up...
After it passes if it does, They always complain about the same thing you tried to explain to them, They just won't listen NOW.

He has already proven he is upper management and doesn't know how the deal is even worded

if they did sell those companys off it would be best for every1 .
we would be in compatition for the work . not just saying it and giving them our work from the call center. that work would be back on yrc trucks instead of to our cheapest carriers like they do it now.
and the money could be used for yrc . costs and paying into pension
