Obviously, you just want to sit back and be a big critic. If you have a solution put it out there or you get over it!!

Raise the standards back to 2 years, offer OT at 40 and you might get a few more quality applicants. Quite simple. Don't come back at me for a third time sounding like a broken record jr.

Yeah it's all good. This company is the best LTL company now. The best benefits, the newest equipment, the newest service centers and the highest pay in the industry. Apply now before OD puts your company out of business.

Old Dominion.. The Amazon of trucking.

I do agree with Billy Lo. OD is The best in ltl(I have checked) and in my opinion one of the best trucking companies to work for in the country. The health insurance is reasonably priced. We have 2 different health plans to choose from, also Mail away prescription program to lower costs. If you are going to drive a truck for a living I recommend applying. Also that Montgomery terminal is brand new state of the art and an excellent time to get in while they are transferring runs from other terminals.

Every year my checks get bigger at OD and they put a lot of thought in raising the cost of benefits for us so it doesn't happen often and when it does it's not that much. Been here over 25 years.

Does OD turn away candidates that worked or work for union freight companies?

Billy, if your checks keep getting bigger, how about a break for your grass cutting customers?, say like maybe, a15%
    discount on every other cut.

From personal experience, no, but they do tend to lean towards the non union guy everything being equal (driving record, experience, etc.)

We have a couple former union guys working at our terminal. One guy was with UPS freight for 7 years and said he's making more money now with OD because he works every day.

I heard thats the problem at ups freight they have a great pay rate but its hard to get work everyday, especially in linehaul. They use so much cartage.

Get drop and hook and fuel pay squared away for linehaul and ot for city then it will be the best.

Drop and hook pay was pretty far down on my list of importance when I decided to make the move.

OD gives you some of the biggest mileage pay in the industry backed by a company that will keep you busy while everyone else sits as we take their freight. Bow down to your freight master as it is now Old Dominion.

We only use purchase transportation only when necessary because there is no other way to move the freight. We don’t always work every day when it’s slow but I see no sign of us slowing down anytime soon.
