You may be right .We do have some SO CALLED union brothers that are so used to a union job ,that they do not know just what it is like in the real world, they have a right to their opinion, and you know what they say about opinions, their like assholes, everyone has one.Believe All of what you see and half of what you here. An old Irish proverb.
I'm not saying everyone is unhappy but you must agree there are some....If you can't see that you are kidding yourself....

I don't care what you think....Your are the reason some people get turned off by the union. You think you Know everthing and are better than us peeons.....:duh:I'm sure one of your buddies will tell you any way which way i run..... Ask them if we had a recent bid if you think i'm lying.....

The sad fact of the matter is you do care what I think, along with my buddies that are keeping an eye on you and have given me all the info on you.

Most are tied of your ranting, (not here).

I'm truly honored to be mentioned again in your post and given full credit for the reason people won't vote for the union when the time comes.

Have you started the campaingn signs yet?

What will the slogan be.

I prefer T251 over Teamster 251, okay?

BTW, you can stop being so paraniod. No one is going to hurt you.

Yours in Solidarity

I agree with you 100% I`ve been in this buisness for 36and a half years, and I lived union and non union. All I can say is that the best deal I ever got was on the union side. The problem is that we have people that have never had to work in the real world and they don`t know what it is all about,so they bitch about every little chickenshit little thing that comes up.If you guys do decide to go union, you will take an oath, and part of that oath is that I Will Not Bring Harm to a Brother Member if I remember it right. And I`m sure that if your serious about joining this great brotherhood that You will be having a talk with the guys that are telling you all this bad ::shit:: and you can reorganize them.

I look foreward to to you watching my back,as old as I am getting,I need all the help I CAN GET!!!!!

How I see it

UPS hasnt done anything to make me feel like part of the family:nutkick: and the Teamsters are not even trying ...maybe to tired from the last try:fight:

I get a chuckle out of this union, non union bashing.

When you went to work at O you were hired to do a job,( business) and mgnt"s responsibility is to keep you in that job. Is it not? Not to bash you, not to disrespect people, not to pass the buck due to incompatance, but to do a job.

Now we as a whole ask mgnt. to clean it up by going union, giving them a business like agenda on how people should be treated with respect, equal pay, and bennies for all, .

This is nothing but business. After all they crave what we are asking for!!! and they will usually sighn what comes across the table at nagotiations knowing that this could break or not break the company. this is the time to be honest. on both sides.

The funny thing is people take this personally "Why"?. If you look at this in a business like attitude and the company cannot perform within not only it's own guidelines, but guidelines that were imposed by an entity that is simply stateing they were irresponsible and its time for no double standards in keeping us afloat to beginwith.

This promotes "BANKRUPTCY". Now someone tell me how this is our fault teamster or not? And how this reflects on other trucking companies that went BANKRUPT?. Time to put the one line zingers to bed.:chairshot: :chairshot:

My new jobclass is "Freight Redundancy Specialist".

This Person will have the ability
to tolerate mentally challenged dispatchers
who excell in the art of ignorance redundancy,
and can withstand driving 18 wheelers at
top end speeds in circles.

I think he's union in a non-union sort of managment kind of pro- labor type of paradigm which bodes well for our future......wha?I'm sooo confused

Skeeter,

You have stated your position many times before. Whether you are in favor of representation or not, it seems you just want to sit back and take whatever comes your way......basically what Overnite gave you for 24 years. Why take a reactive approach? We know what you are unhappy about. Why not get in the game and make sure those changes come about? No one ever won a game sitting on the bench or on the sidelines.
Get involved.
Be a playmaker.
Make a difference.

Thank you for stating what I said in the old boards in a way that Skeeter could understand enough to give a response to. If we are to stay non-union then we have a big job ahead of us. And sitting back and waiting or pointing fingers is EXACTLY what they want us to do. Leo and company don't want us to agree. If we agree or work together, we have power. That is what they fear. And I just can't see us doing this without the union. Because no one wants to stick their neck out or go out of their way to try to make things better. I watch every day, a guy with lower seniority, if he gets a chance he will screw a guy with more seniority the first chance he gets or the other way around. If we can't even have respect for each other how can we accomplish anything.

Skeeter this was not meant in a mean manner towards you. Like I have said before I work for the same company you do and probably have the same concerns you do. We have a responsibilty to ourselves and out families to make the most money and take home the least amount of crap from our work.

All that I'm asking is if you are deadset on being non-union, explain a tactic to get the best from UPS as possible. I will listen and share ideas.

And the sooner you all get over thinking that MC or Onite is the company you work for the the quicker we can MOVE ON!!!!!!!

t251 where did you get your numbers from. Didn't know that overnite paid millions in fines. Seems to me if that was the case those terminals would still be union. The fines were paid mostly by the union and that's why those barns are union free the wrong doing was done who? Your precious UNION!

I figured it out!

Accelerator,
Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand very much about your post.
He and the company are sort of saying the same thing, but proposing different solutions.
Accelerator is saying that bringing in the union will force management to straighten up and do things more professionally. In the end everyone will benefit.
UPS is saying that UPSF management is terribly inept and can not compete on a level playing field, the employees should feel sorry for the managers and accept less pay to offset their performance (or lack thereof)

My heart is bleeding every time I have to sit and wait on poor management. Thank God they don't pay us delay or the company would go broke and we would be out of a job.

Maybe the fact that they don't pay you delay is the reason the run so poorly. Maybe if they had to pay you delay time, they would run a tighter ship and you would be compensated for all your "on duty" time.

Exactly put pressure on management. Let them get organized and efficient. Why should we pay for their lack of efficiency. Actually I meant not get payed.:duh:
