Yellow | Rumor or Fact? You be the judge.

Just heard from a UPS driver that they are unsatisfied and dropping Overnite and are moving to 135 to purchase YRC......Anyone else heard anything on this? :TR10driving03:

why would a successful company want to buy something it could pick up at a bank sale for 1/4 the price

Saw UPS Freight pull package pup with freight pup already about a year ago.

this is happening for sure, i have seen it and also the IBT put our a MOU (memo of understanding) to let feeder drivers that r laid off of slow pick up volunme ltl freight and delv. to freight hub for more stream line pickup in heavy areas! UPS Freight is on the move and probably to new apple of the IBT's ltl eye!

They will have a big pension obligation if funding dips below a certain level in central states, part of the buyout deal, ZOLLARS OUT.....BROWN In ????

Maybe some truth

I heard that UPS BOUGHT YRC's TERMINAL in Carisle, Pa for 82 MILLLION! This news was
circulated Thursday 8/13.

No pension for 18 months, crappy health insurance and a 15% pay cut for the life of the contract... They might just entertain the thought at that!!!

So you believe you have crappy health insurance... Wait until you see what you get with unemployment or buy your own insurance... But don't worry, Obama will take care of you when you're put on a single payer government ran insurance...

That is correct

Part of the agreement is that UPS has to run some white colored trucks. Like this one!!
That is correct. Part of the agreement for Fed Ex Corp to surrender to UPS and rename the companies 'Fed Up' is that everyone will operate either a Fed Ex Volvo or a UPS Mack. BTW....after reading Kennesaw Kid's explanation of how some of the concession ballots were tainted with blood or even feces (sad and YUK!!), I have gained a certain (new) respect and sympathy (empathy?) for all package delivery persons.......................................

If things go well the pension will be restored but we don't know all the details yet. The wage will be negotiated up from where it is now in the next contract

keep dreaming, why would ups buy a company that is so far in dept and does not own anything anymore???????????

not the company, just the largest terminal in the network. with fuel direct from the pipeline, and in the future, direct access to the green stamp.

SÃO PAULO -- General Motors Co. is targeting the emerging ultra-low-cost car market with plans for a compact for around $4,000, possibly producing it in Asia. Under the direction of Fiat SpA, Chrysler Group LLC is devising plans to produce the Italian auto maker's Fiat 500 subcompact at a Chrysler plant in Mexico, according to people familiar with the matter, while considering what other Fiat models to introduce to the U.S. market.

Chrysler is also looking at making a small Fiat engine for the 500 at a Chrysler plant in Trenton, Mich., and is considering building a Fiat-derived compact car slightly larger than the 500 in the U.S., a person familiar with the plans said.
They can't make compacts here and not lose money. If big SUV's and trucks is their market then they are screwed when the new gas laws go into effect. A fact
