Any one hear this Rumor?????
That Ups is the big investor, that the T.M. were talking about when they pulled 10 drivers in at a time, to talk to them about the vote. The new Ups Commerical with Logistics? If Ups bought YRC they could have the biggest empire in the world, in both package (which they already have now) and LTL.

Thats why YRC needs more concessions
Its a rumor that we are all hearing alot!!!! YRC has the most professional drivers in the LTL industry, the average age for an employee at YRC is 50 years old, with at least 20 years under their belt of experience. Most are clean cut and would fit in good with Ups.

What would Fred Smith do then???? (CEO of Fed Ex)

One could only wish, Like I said its a rumor, but alot are talking!!!

Any thoughts?????

Sorry to dash your hopes but this will never happen this rumor has been floating around for years, if I had a nickel every time I heard it I'd be rich!!! Remember before CF went out alot of people thought UPS would buy them too, obviously that never happened.
 
As a long time employee of Overnite/UPS Freight I can honestly tell you if this were true, it would not be peaches and cream, have You ever read our contract or seen the issues with the company and the unions neglect in winning grievances? UPS Freight managers laugh at us and our contract.
 
I have a friend that works at parcel and has been hearing this too. I doubt it though! Like Disgruntled said, It's nothing new. heard it before.
 
Why would UPS need another trucking company? They seem to be doing just fine with the Overnite deal.
 
Overnite deal, is good but its not big enough for Ups, (Ups wants to take Fed Ex - CEO Fred Smith down) and what better way to do it but with YRC - YRC is Worldwide just as Ups Package Division, How many trucking companies does YRC own? Ups has a campaign against Fed Ex right as we speak what better way to get at Fed Ex, they wouldnt stand a chance in LTL with Ups Freight & purchasing YRC (just my thought)

Wow, someone was actually listening from when I was posting this well over a year ago. I already know about it. There have been a great deal of talks, but nothing was for sure.
 
Gotta grow some "huge" balls. Fight for our contract rights! Either go toe-to-toe with them or become a spineless jellyfish. I'm "old-school" Roadway. Fire and Brimstone. May Don C rest in peace. My supervisors at YRC, FEAR me! Yes, I do have seniority, BUT I have walked a fine line for 24 years. The stewards call me a "rebel" at our "new" consolidated barn.

I'd make them wear the brown slacks with those gawd awful international orange polyester shirts! Brown nose, orange shirt, brown slacks! We have a trifecta! PS: Maybe joe can get us some odds on this when he goes in to the casino.

they all want us dead or alive
 
Hey Joe :duh: how about showing us where you got your info on UPS owning YRC stock and how they shorted it if they did...:hyper: I am sure you want to share your vast amount of knowledge with everyone here....

There some drivers at YRC that are P&D and they havent been seen for years.........They are still under the dispatchers chairs and havent come up for air yet........LMAO
