I don't know how long you been if LTL freight. In the LTL world freight is passed around like a lot lizard. Since the union strike in the 90s were lots of companies got hung out to dry most customer don't have just one carrier on the books. Now one carrier might be getting most the freight but never all. Prime example we have 2 customers that we would get about 1-2 bill a day out of, since NEMF closed it now like 1-2 vans per day. The shipper keep us on the book to have pricing in place just in case. When the strike in the 90's happened shippers were begging the non-union carriers like CCX,CSE,CWE to make pickups. It got that bad that most non-union carries were taking care of their shippers freight first and then getting what they could from the other, oh and the rates were at full price with the term of it will get their when it gets their.
I sure if you work here long enough you will see some of those customers come back, or go to another carrier. Remember price is everything. Come in with cheaper rates and you get the freight.[/Q
