ODFL | Wage And Benefit Meeting

That's a dipshit mindset if I ever heard one.
So, by your logic, any future pay raises are contingent upon a company having layoffs?

Drivers like you, being content with scraps, and barely making financial progress for themselves, is why companies will always barely throw you enough so you will stick around.

But enjoy your basically zero progress raise, and still no OT after 8.
LMAO Typical response. If you dont like it here you have options.

If that's not enough for you then move on.quit talking bad about the company you chose to work for

I believe it could be better but I’m pretty happy with what we are getting. I agree that the out of pocket expenses for our insurance should be better. Getting an increase in pay and a bump to .50 on the dollar match in the 401k is a huge plus for all of us as that will be more in the market to grow your 401k for retirement. I personally was looking for bit higher raise, improvement to health insurance, and a raise to the 401k match. Got decent raise and the 401k bump I’ll happily take it and keep trucking.

Let’s all think about the fact that we got those improvements and on top of that OD pumps a huge portion of money into Equipment so we aren’t driving broke down junk. For a lot of us remember how you started in this industry and where you worked over the years before getting to where your at now. I for one know first hand that it could be much much worse. None of us will be 100% satisfied but we got it pretty damn good.

They could have addressed the overtime issue and still provided a raise equal to or better than what has been given. 77% operating ratio when freight is down and we are bloated with personnel (company provided insurance portions being paid on drivers not working a full week).

So you think they should just get rid of the people not always working a full week? I think they've addressed the overtime issue, you just haven't liked the answer..

Without being a total jerk, I see some wasted time on the clock. Not everyone, but some. I will admit that years ago it was different. If I had 15 drops and 6 to 8 pickups, driving at least 140 miles a day, with either 2 or three trailers, that was a easy day. Yes, there was times that I pulled triples on my p&d run. But I have heard people now complain about 5 or 6 drops and a couple of pickups. Times have changed. We have a different breed of driver’s. I’m not saying it’s bad, but it’s just different. If I wanted overtime I would of went elsewhere. We all have the option.

Probably half of our drivers have never driven junk or had more than 12 stops a day. They complain about petty things yet have never worked anywhere else and aren't going anywhere. The grass is OD green here so is the money. Be thankful for it. Not that long ago some of our competition took a pretty big cut just to keep their company in business and are driving junk today.
