"The Constitution's first three words—We the People—affirm that the government of the United States exists to serve its citizens.
at that time, States appointed Senators and there was no income tax or standing armies. Read on to the Articles that describe the duties of each branch. Socialism/ providing needs was not amongst those. The Duty of the Federal Government was Defense, and Judicating thru the only Court. The 9th and 10th Amendments gave responsibility to the individual and the states. Madison wrote in the Federalist Papers, that the people and states would govern so powerfully that the Federal Government might not even survive."The Constitution's first three words—We the People—affirm that the government of the United States exists to serve its citizens.
Jimmy exactly what is their job? This government is so polarized as are so many on this board hardly anything is getting done. I say fire them all.I am for Government Never Bailing out Anything. It's not the job of Government to play Provider.
However- yes- if Congress passes it, I do believe he will sign it in an Omnibus Bill.
There is probably some truth to that. But it passed out of committee 26 to 18. I wonder how many of the 26 yeas were republicans? I wonder how many of the nays were democrats? Do you see where I'm going with bi-partisanship? Probably passes in the democrat controlled house and dies in the republican controlled senate. Just politics as usual in DC.The Democrats don't have time to deal with voting on legislation, they are too busy trying to impeach Trump. They don't care about us peasants.
The job of Federal Government is Defense, and to make the States play nice together, per the Constitution. Everything else it does is SUPPOSED to be Forbidden.Jimmy exactly what is their job? Stand Alone, it'll fail. Attached to a Spending Bill it sails thru, like MEPRA did. There is probably some truth to that. But it passed out of committee 26 to 18. Ah Kline-Miller I remember it well. There is an idiot on here who claims Obama stole our pensions because he didn't shut down the government back in 2014 over MEPRA.Stand Alone, it'll fail. Attached to a Spending Bill it sails thru, like MEPRA did.
It’s true! If Trump would have signed the same thing you would never stop crying! That’s a fact!!!Ah Kline-Miller I remember it well. There is an idiot on here who claims Obama stole our pensions because he didn't shut down the government back in 2014 over MEPRA.
How can your opinion be a fact? I cried when Obama signed it. But I understand why he did. The same as I will understand if Trump signs the OSB with the Butch Lewis Act attached. It’s true! If Trump would have signed the same thing you would never stop crying! That’s a fact!!!
Is there another omnibus bill this year? I thought the one they did in February covered the whole year?Stand Alone, it'll fail. Attached to a Spending Bill it sails thru, like MEPRA did.
It’s not an opinion, it’s a fact. Obama never tried to fix it either. How can your opinion be a fact? I cried when Obama signed it. But I understand why he did. The same as I will understand if Trump signs the OSB with the Butch Lewis Act attached.
Technically, it is covered. There are always proposed changes. There are also things expiring- like raising the Debt Ceiling. That vote sill be in August or September. Is there another omnibus bill this year? I thought the one they did in February covered the whole year?
You've got me confused here. How could Obama have fixed an amendment to the funding bill when the republicans controlled the house? And I questioned your post being fact when you used a hypothetical situationIt’s not an opinion, it’s a fact. Obama never tried to fix it either.

Obama had two years of the House and the Senate. They could’ve made laws to protect the pensions back when he got elected. They, “the democrats “ chose not to.You've got me confused here. How could Obama have fixed an amendment to the funding bill when the republicans controlled the house?
Gee, I thought we had pension protection back in 2012. I think they called it ERISA. If I'm not mistaken it was Ryan and the republican controlled house that attached Kline-Miller to the funding bill. But if you want to blame Obama for our pension mess then have at it. It won't change a thing.Obama had two years of the House and the Senate. They could’ve made laws to protect the pensions back when he got elected. They, “the democrats “ chose not to.

Then two years later signed the Omnibus of 2014. Veto power! That’s how Obama could’ve saved it. It’s called negotiating.
We did have pension protection moron. It ended in 2014, you know, when Obama signed all our protections away. It could’ve been extended or fixed. But the Union loving democrat president didn’t think pensions or unions were important enough to fight for.Gee, I thought we had pension protection back in 2012. I think they called it ERISA. Why are you calling me names? You said Obama didn't do anything to protect pensions in 2012. I said we had ERISA until 2014 when the republicans attached Kline-Miller to the funding bill. As much as I would have liked Obama to not sign the bill I do understand why he didn't shut the government down over it.We did have pension protection moron.
