anyone remember anderson motor service?
I think I had a brain fart! Thanks for the correction. :smilie_132:That was actually Penn Yan that CF Inc. bought and transformed into CEX. New Penn is still around. North Penn is another that's gone.
Skyline, from Knoxville, sold their LTL operation to Old Dominion in the mid to late 90's...Another one I don't think I've seen listed.
SKYLINE-NON (From Tenn?)
I'm surprised with all this name dropping that no one mentioned Churchhill Truck Lines... They agreed to work thru the '94 strike but wound up closing during the strike...
And if memory serves me, Nationsway worked thru the strike as well...
you guys @ 187 do you remember a carrier called L.I. trucking out of Deer Park, were they union or non. They were a small regional carrier I used to see all the time running on the LIE.
AAA ,Moores, Tredways ,Hmeleski ,Union, Faitoute , Shallcross, Jersey Coast , Perkins , Dorns. All union except Hmeleski which was decertified in early 70's. I've seen a AAA in NJ operating with the same logo on the door (not a B-61 though) Talked to the driver and he said it was a 701 job but not master freight. How long before Associated (AT) comes back?
I actually saw an Eastern Freightways dry van new 53' in Findlay Ohio the other day and the logo was the exact same as the Eastern that merged with Associated transport, back in the late seventies before they both went down. I about ran off the road.
skyline still around they got out of the LTL all TL NOW. still the same owners. same colors same place. non unionAnother one I don't think I've seen listed.
SKYLINE-NON (From Tenn?)
