XPO | Pulling a 28 Footer?

It means he is on the computer so much that he has time to babysit this forum board.:hide::biglaugh:

I drank the truckingboards kool-aid. Jeff makes some pretty darn good juice.

I do frequent this board often and roam around when insomnia hits, reading alot of the wit of other members.
If you haven't already done so, you all should post outside the box and give the other forums a try, you might just get sucked in deeper!

Yes it's a new title. Please don't treat me any different. I'm still the same person. Does this make me an FOS of truckingboards?

As you know, becoming an FOS will bring the :butt kiss:er's out of the woodworks. Geez....I can't stand those guys.....I mean seriously DW, you are one cool dude. :butt kiss: And hey, I could see that long before anyone else could.....So funny, and smart, and you know just how to articulate your posts to make your point clear. :butt kiss: So just beware of those guys. Don't worry, I got your back.:butt kiss: I'll always be here for you man.

Wow! How nice of you to say those things!:1036316054:

I can promise you guys one thing. This title will NOT get to my head. I got all your backs as long as we can play fair.
I'm going to continue doing what I've always been doing and uhhhh keep post whoring in the Big Threads.:hide:

The only thing I would like to stress to you guys is to just follow the truckingboards rules and we all can be one big happy family.
This is a cool outlet and good information center for all of us members and yes including G.O aka The Crystal Palace
Lets not spoil it.

DW,
Does this mean I should be nice to you now?
:biglaugh::1036316054: Good one Bank!

Only if you want to be nice.
I'm still going to be the same and won't be axe happy like uhhhh some Con-way management.
  • We enjoy having our members, would like more and believe in true progressive discipline when warranted.
  • We won't be taking anyones pension away.
  • Your vested once you get a five (5) greenies.

I'm gonna have to figure out how to get my friends to sign up & give me some rep so I can get vested or start being nicer to people (nah I'll just live with my four greenies):biglaugh::hide:

At XPN thats all I would do is build head loads. It makes way better sense to handle the freight less. Less damage.
Sorry to hear that it has changed so much.

you guys who take a 53 out in the city are insane....especially major metropolitain cities with high populations, los angeles, new york, chicago etc....

i did city pd in orange county where all the streets are big, you can tell the main streets from the residentials and pretty much every community is designed as a big grid and almost the same....

big ups to all you guys who take 53 footers in tight cities with one ways every other street and massive traffic, not to mention blocking up a busy street to back into a customers lot

I believe you have 5 greenies and are Truckingboards vested!:1036316054:

Good Idea! Get as many co-workers as you can to join and have fun in here. Just tell them to not be a fool and play by the rules.

People don't seem to mind if you block the road as long as you look like you know what you're doing. Atleast in this part of the country. People get impatient when you back it like a rookie.

We have no choice in the matter. Are barns attitude is we have em and we're gonna use them. The swing doors go to the drivers with the least stops but at some point we all have 53'. Some lucky dsr's get a volvo sleeper too.

Thanks You're swell!!!:butt kiss:

Ok that's the last of the butt kissin from me. I'm vested beeotches!!!!!!

OK.. I'm fired up now.. I work at xsn.. I'm last guy to St Marys every day. I have stops anywhere between Sharon and St Marys on the I80 corridor and pick up in St Marys. If anyone thinks the easy way to do this is a 53' wagon and the hard way is a 28' wagon please let me know. Back off rt219 into JIT Tool and Die a few times and let me know.. Come across rt948 and down Bootjack Summit with 35k in the box and a single axle on snow covered icy roads and let me know. All the linehaul guys (who I have a lot of respect for) need to do this a few times. You will have a lot of respect for the guys who pull the long boxes.. When you're turning out of the customer with sideskirts hanging down do you remember what is under the snow bank?? I sure as hell don't and I've been there a hundrerd times.. Don't ever tell me a pup is harder to pull than a long box.
with 35k in the box and a single axle tractor you're overweight. im sure you meant 25k in the box. no one at conway has ever been overweight.

48 & 53' can gross 66k. 35k will scale for gross weight. Hard to scale on drives though. Gotta load it like a spread axle but that makes it tough for drive axle traction on bad roads.

Man, the guy who started this thread has not even responded. I hope he found out what he wanted to know. And look what he started.

It's kind of funny when members do the "One Hit Wonder" post.

....It did branch off into all directions.

He started the one about Conway drivers needing another job should go to Southeastern as well. We'll see if he surfaces on that one again. Looks like he's just stirring the pot..

You are not correct here. I used to pull heavy out of XAH quite a bit. Just loose some bills and cross out a line or two on the manifest. Hard to be legal when you only have two trailers to go to and no one to come thru and grab one.:hide:
