XPO | Who Is Running Linehaul?

The biggest issue our local management is to scared to speak up to the brass and say hey! This ::shit:: isn’t working!!!!

everyone is to damn scared to speak up thinking they will be fired.

if the Terminal managers and Regional guys don’t step in and question Tony Brooks and or Bradley then nothing will change.

the driver is the face of the company! The Man/Woman who talks face to face to the customers. We are the ones that get shafted now a days before dock workers. We play both roles but get treated like the red headed step child!

My Fellow Drivers We have a serious problem!

linehaul is out of control!!!!!!

how can they justify leaving trailers at FAC full of freight and sit drivers and not move these trailers?????

We all need to call GO and give them a piece of our minds! We will continue to lose customers if nothing is done!

This can not be accomplished if we don’t stick together and fight for our jobs and customers.

I was told by a FOM at the Fac that I run, that L/H is over budget and needs to cut/make up 1.5 million. Basically L/H was mismanaged the previous 11 months and have to make up for their incompetence.

Is it safe to say we have another outdated SOCIALIST CEO in power?

See for many years CEOS ran their company like this... they feed themselves first...
top-down.png

It never works.... if he wants to create sustainability for the fellow blue collar workers of America then he need to start with the bottom up approach! My number one thing I would want him to see first hand is how poor the training is in the dock and how unrealistic this company is with some of the things they expect out of the production area (dock).

The customers always first, then employees, and so on but I’m not seeing anything but miscommunication and a “who gives a :::shit:::” attitude from most of the managers. This place needs a serious makeover if it’s going to last. That means the drivers start working together and the managers listen. Or this company is SOL!
Customers and employees are last here upper management and Bradley’s pockets are first

I think we are unified in knowing there are problems here and there is nothing we can do about it

Wrong. Go work somewhere else. It's what they are doing around here. Just ran into another guy today. He's very happy in his new job. Companies are dying for drivers. They will bend over backwards for experienced ones.

The problems are obvious. And not going away. This isn't sustainable. It's not even meant to be sustainable.

To hell with drivers and customers. Corporate needs their pound of flesh. Sacrifices must be made. Lambs to the slaughter.

Yep. It’s obvious now. Sad, but it is what it is. Ride it out, or move on.

Yes they are and even lots of driver talk a good game in the yard, but get them in a meeting a church mouse makes more noise then they do. I not afraid to speak my mind to anyone in management from the little FOS all the way to BJ himself. I have talked to Regional manger and VP's about cost saving they are ignoring and even had number to prove it. So I took this one drivers outlook on it and it is "Shut-up and Drive the Truck Stupid". On day my FOS was on the phone with LH and when I walked up I said out loud to him "ask him if he know how to read a map". FOS told me that pissed him off and I went and did his plan that cost more, and I made more and had no dock time that night.

MANDATORY FAILURE

They load the 09:00 appointment in the nose and you don't even leave the yard until 10:30. Get that orange sticker filled out. The computer knows best.

They route you to your furthest stop first. Driving right past every single stop on your route and half your pick ups ? Run it the way the routed it and loaded it. The computer knows best.

They want everything loaded strapped to the wall. Hey. I can sure handle that. I get paid by the minute. Not by the motor move. So, what if it takes 2 hours to do a city breaker ?

The other night. They have us work the dock because so many have quit. New kid FOS tells me to put freight on a trailer. It ain't swept out. There are some kinda parts that should have been recouped laying all over the floor. Beams the whole length of the trailer are half way down. The trailer isn't set up. And even best. I'm not allowed to load this freight to that door. So, since no one else did their job. I didn't either. LOL Pass the buck ? Drop the buck ? Drop the ball ? I don't know. I know ain't none of it any good. And there is no point in trying to do the right thing any more. It just gets you more problems.

Carry plenty. They pay me to fill these out and put stop exceptions on freight.

I do the best that I can knowing I will have to bring freight back. I don't want overtime , I don't want to **** customers off , I don't want to arrive too late , I don't want to work the dock - but , here we are.

I have to admit. I still get riled up and frustrated about things. Wanting to go the extra mile. To fix things or alleviate problems. Eliminate potential hang ups or miss steps. I am doing better though. I just keep telling myself to let it go. And most importantly I keep rule number 7 in mind. It clearly states....

Rule #7 : Not my job.

And I really need to be more and more cognizant of when I am trying to do other peoples jobs instead of my own. Just drive the truck stupid. Dumb it down. This is what they want. Ruin everything. Let it go to hell. Every time you try to do something positive you will get reprimanded. Figure it out. Be a failure. You will be rewarded. I know it's counter intuitive. But that's our reality. For as long as these people still own this business. It's theirs. They bought it fair and square. They get to do with it as they please.

I agree with you. The question here is about sitting drivers while there are loads to pull.

As everyone should know XPO covers the USA.Every area is different.Where are they sitting drivers? You make it seem like the whole company is falling apart. The northeast has a serious shortage of drivers and loads are being left behind because there is no one to pick them up.No one is sitting. XHG can't find enough drivers to pull loads .No one is sitting. So wherever you are MAVERICK2009,it must be a local deal.

What you say is false ! I know 3 road guys who sat in New England , freight has dropped way off . Two are wishing they had bid the city and one did !

Plus some terminals in the northeast have laid drivers off . Apparently not as busy as you hoped/claim/wish !

I’m assuming you saw the whole picture of what was happening throughout the country, the one day they sat the three drivers???I’m just a little confused as to why you’re a mere truck driver when you know so much about the system? Try this one on for size. Take your two loads to the Destiination, load and unload trailers while you are there, and then take your two trailers to where they tell you. It’s not rocket science, and it’s what you’re paid to do. LOL

You seem to know so much but obviously you know very little ! The guy who bid the city got out one time all week . The others 2-3 nights in a week . So it may be busy where you run or are out of but not all places in the northeast are . And , I am not talking the whole system , this is happing in New England .

Dude you haven’t read much on here. Any normal human being would want to fix the problems and make it right! But obviously rangeman knows best everybody! I think you need to reread why we started this thread RANGEMAN anyways! I can’t argue with stupid anymore! Dumbass!

Oh I know why you started this thread. The company is sitting drivers and leaving freight behind.I'm asking is this USA wide or a small terminal every now and then? We never sit anyone and the only reason we leave freight behind is because of a severe shortage of drivers, not because they sit drivers. Obviously your a small terminal and are not busy.you make it sound like the whole company is going to hell. If I wasn't such a dumbass I would question what a DSR from a small terminal would hope to achieve by calling linehaul???

I’m not from a small terminal , linehaul will leave a driver set , and a full trailer of freight , if it can’t be covered by a via, will not run a driver with one and a empty, do it with our daylanes too, this is going on at big and small terminals and not just the northeast , I’m in the Midwest.
