It's funny you say that. I go to Breitbart many times a day to check the news and I come away shaking my head that the people who get their news from abc, cbs, nbc, cnn, msnbc, pbs... they have to read or listen to reports of the same made up stories that have left out important facts to make it fit their warped opinions. They make stuff up and lie to fit their agenda. Funny how that works huh?
I guess you hear what you want to here . One of the pillars of a fascist state is to distrust the free press . I guess we can check that one off as accomplished. History will look back poorly on those who comply

The administration and the corporatists our in lock step against labor right now . Just look at the recent picks at the labor board . Second pillar of Fascist state .

What’s the next move ? A national emergency to be used as an excuse to lock up the rights we enjoy now .

If your even a little bit of a student of history you can see direct parallels to the past. I hope time will bare me wrong on this and we see the errors of our ways . I will gladly take the hit as wrong for this.

God save our democracy.

This might be the most confirmational bias thing I have ever read in my entire life. Lol.

So I guess you live your life without bias yet you call me and I would assume others who don't agree with your world view fascist. How magnanimous of you. I make no apologies for being hard core conservative and for damn sure anti union. You can cling to your ideas I will not fault you for them. I do disagree with them.
By the way when the so called free press and only one political party are in lock step with each other is does not mean their ideas are correct. It does however show them both beholden to the same master, the idea of global socialism.
God save our Republic.

We a a constitutional republic , not a democracy.

This is as ridiculous an argument as it is common. There is no practicable difference, especially in a contemporary sense, to be discerned between republic or democracy, unless you go by the strictest, most pedantic, and least charitable senses of the words.

I not calling you a Fascist yourself and I apologize if it sounded that way . I merely pointing out how one could fall for someone who has Fascist ideas. If we question all press as being false if it doesn’t suit our needs or beliefs we create a divide that will ultimately lead to the demise of our system.
Dictators our waiting in the wings with their populists ideas . Those who don’t like our line of thought will lose their freedoms and possibly worse lives . I digress and hope that I’m not painting a picture of certain picture of all doom and gloom.
I think our future generations will see the divide and hate that has come too be as of late and turn away. Offering us great hope for the future. I know my children have been raised to not be so closed in mind and little.

Ignorance is our greatest threat

From the article you linked to:

This comparison therefore contrasts the form of government in most countries today with a theoretical construct of a "pure democracy", mainly to highlight the features of a republic.

Like I said, and your article agrees with, the difference in general parlance is basically meaningless unless you take the most pedantic and uncharitable use of democracy and transpose it with the most favorable definition of republic as you can. Even Madison, the Founding Father who dug into this ground the most in various Federalist Papers admits as much when he defines the terms in his own writings. Federalist #10 is quite insightful on this subject, as an example. Words are alive, they don't always fit into the cubby holes we would like them to. This is an example of that. 'Democracy' means so much more than mob rule or 'pure democracy', which is why the article you linked to felt the need to put quotes around the term and qualify it with the term 'theoretical construct'. It is the reason why when someone says they want such-and-such a country to experience 'democracy', they don't mean 'pure democracy' or some level of mob rule.

And I’m saying that your argument is used frequently by those on the left to dimish the difference.

The framers of the constitution may not have had it perfect but the foresight into our situation today is nothing less than remarkable. They suspected that someone would come along and challenge its very existence as is happening now . They put in place a mechanism as a failsafe to save its being . Genius

Unfortunately, any and all safeguards only work when the people we elect to represent us are willing to abide by them even at their own personal cost. Unfortunately, we are no longer there as a country. Personal and political power is ruling all other motives all across the board.

if the constitution was followed correctly , and the 10th amendment followed , the federal government would be much much smaller and more politics would be local to your state , the framers were genious , not to have beaurocrats from thousands of miles away dictating your Dailey life in your state.

This press isn't free. They are owned and contrived.

This is a capitalist society. The money rules. It's the ultimate non discriminant. It don't care who you are or where you are. If you don't have the money. You lose.

We a a constitutional republic , not a democracy.

In either case, laws are made as a direct result of the will of the majority of the people.

Key Takeaways: Republic vs. Democracy
  • Republics and democracies both provide a political system in which citizens are represented by elected officials who are sworn to protect their interests.
  • In a pure democracy, laws are made directly by the voting majority leaving the rights of the minority largely unprotected.
  • In a republic, laws are made by representatives chosen the people and must comply with a constitution that specifically protects the rights of the minority from the will of the majority.
  • The United States, while basically a republic, is best described as a “representative democracy.”

The press told us all night. Hilary was gonna win. And they were stunned and clueless with what to do when Trump won. They did everything in their power. And it wasn't enough. They thought they owned the information. They control the result. But it didn't work.

The American people are pissed. There is a lot of anger in the flock. The sheep are looking for a good shepherd. You saw the hysteria with Obama and now Trump. These are the same conditions under which Stalin, ಠ▄ಠ and Mussolini took power. Because when in need of a direction. The flock will race in the first direction they see.

They were well aware of the down fall of past democracies. And well as the pros and cons of monarchies. This government was meant to be small. Unrestrictive. For FREEDOM to be the hallmark of the nation.

Exactly this. And we have idiots like AOC in NYC trying to tell us that people in Wyoming need to live the same they do. This is a big country. The people on the coasts to often over look the people in the middle. And discount their " country bumpkin " lives.
