First year employees at ABF get 13 pto days....2nd year 18....8 years 23....15 years 28....20 years 33....30 years 38I never mentioned about pensions being in bad I said they are a dinosaur. There aren't any companies that I'm aware of that's starting pension plans in this day and age. New hires here start accumulate 12 pto days their first year. Eight years we get 20 days. We also get overtime after 8 all holidays and black Friday paid and we don't pay $63 union due.

Our owner can be anti driver and dock worker all he wants, he still has to have us. One day if they can replace us, and company that doesn't will be a dinosaur and be out of business. I contribute to a HSA, I put enough in there to cover my deductible. I'm not saying it's a perfect place to work but there are places way worse. The majority of drivers here see no value in unions or there would be more barns that would vote

After 5 years, yes...you CAN take it with you. It will be there for you always. The longer you’re in, the bigger your monthly benefit. It’s that simple. And what do you pay for healthcare for your family? I bet it’s more than $63/month. ABF employees pay nothing. You would make more money with all you would save on ins and the HIGH deductibles !They also don't guarantee we would make more money
You get 0 sick days , about 2 years ago they took 1 bereavement day away , you get 0 personal days . Also if you quit or get fired and you have PTO time built up you lose it all . With union you quit or get fired you get all that’s owed you . Vacation time , personal days , sick days etc . Keep your ins for 90 days . What about healthcare you get team care for that 63 dollars a month am I correct. If so sounds very good to me.You should do a little research on pensions, not all are in bad shape. I’m in central Pennsylvania fund & its in great shape along with the Western plan(left coast). In 2018 ABF contributed $21,122.65 into my retirement, that’s $10.395 per hour. We are in the same plan as UPS parcel....I get 3 weeks vacation after 8 years, 5 sick days per year & 3 personal per year + all major holidays including Black Friday, overtime after 8 not 40 & work rules.... not bragging by any means just what I get for $63 per month (dues)

I think on Xpo plan that would cost you $2400.00My wife just got a new insulin pump and Dexcom system, about $12,000, my co-pay with Teamcare was $107.00. My weekly cost is around $21.00.....

Why does a union vote mean pension? The voters can ask for the retirement contribution to go 401k instead of pension. I’d prefer that. Imagine $350 per week going into your 401we got back the pay cut from 2008, pensions are dinosaurs and they aren't coming back. If you look at other companies you'd have a hard time finding one the offers more pto time then we do. I don't like some of the things we lost but still have it pretty good when compared to other companies.

They hope that by saying that pensions are dead that people will buy into it and repeat it as fact. Your job might be a good one now, and I truly hope it stays that way. But you have probably heard that history repeats itself. You need to look no further than truckload. The the freight still gets delivered so it can't be a shortage of drivers. If there was a true shortage pay and bennies would go up, supply and demand
