FedEx Freight | Charlotte Results

First, I don't work for YRC, so I don't have retirement healthcare. You are dreaming if you think you will ever
get the benefits of the UPS contract. You can buy better retirement healthcare on the open market that is less expensive than what the Teamsters have.
I personally don't believe you about the healthcare, as far as a ups type contract, no-one knows for sure what we will get but that is a good starting point. If we are the largest most profitable as they keep telling us it's not completely out of the question. That is what negotiations are for. If you are for real former yrc management you should know that. Duh!

I know that we've already established my inability to recognize sarcasm...BUT...if you are really being serious; the Teamsters represent both YRC and UPSF. That FACT would lead me to believe that YRC is the "starting point" and UPSF is the grand prize.

Not to say that you or I are not worth the grand prize...I think we are...AND THEN SOME. WE ARE A PRETTY BADASS TEAM !!!
But that is a different debate altogether.

Logically, we'll end up somewhere in the middle.

Negotiating hopefully results in compromise, c'mon driver.

thats what i did by voting for barry! stay, change it for the better! just like the fedex guys voting for union representation!

i didnt say you have to agree with my vote, but somehow people just cant understand, barry won, i voted for him, hes our president, get it?

Reject Dock walker, maybe salary employees have crappy insurance!! Teamster ins. I have is Pretty good! Just had surgery and was in hospital 9 days and it didn't cost me a dime!!! Zero!!!!

So tell me why Holland and all the others that were bought out by YRC were doing great before? It is their debt YRC has that caused the issue.

I guess I could go take out a bunch of loans real quick since I'm on a higher paying bid. Then when bid time comes up and I am forced onto a smaller run and not making as much I can blame it on my kids eating too much as to why I can't repay them.

It is the debt they took on from buying USF that put them in over their head. The Roadway buy made no sense, but they did actually pay off that debt rather quickly. They over paid for USF, the economy tanked, and now they are trying to stay in business.

But you do agree that we are worth more than they are currently paying us right. They keep telling us we are the best in the industry, if that is so why do they keep treating us as if we are scrubs? And I'm not talking about just pay, their in some decent insurance and a decent pension. We aren't asking for the moon but we should at least reach for the best we can get.

Explain to me, please, why UPS Freight or Package Drivers are worth more than we are... Really we all want to know.
On to the FACTS Retiree healthcare, want to see what they have?
Click right here to see the plan they have

Don't like links? Look at this and tell me where you can get thiso n the open market for $400/mo FAMILY retiree healthcare. If not impossible to find, the cost would be many times higher.

You don't make a very credible argument... Because the fact are just not on your side. No way you can beat that on the open market.

Would you like to move on to regular health insurance plan comparisons?

The Teamsters also represent many port drivers who, according to the National Employment Law Project, work an average of 59 hours a week and make an average of $28,700 per year. That is equivalent to $9.30 per hour. There is no set starting point in the negotiations. I think everyone should be paid a fair wage. I just don’t think hiring the Teamsters as an intermediary is the way to get there. I would not expect you to agree since you are a Teamster leader. Maybe your local is different from the ones I am familiar with. I am tired of this topic since it has already been settled with the vote. You are probably correct that you will end up somewhere between YRC and UPS. Everyone have a happy holiday. If C'mon driver was for me you will be disappointed to know that I have never driven a truck or operated a forklift or walked the dock as someone else said. You will have to keep guessing.

No, I am pretty sure there aren't more than 2 or 3 people who voted for Obama that (A) are employed, (B) have an IQ over 70 and (C) love this Country. I derailed the topic by sending a little congratulations out to those in Charlotte and merely mentioning the flashback I had this morning, and then your incessant proding after just about every post of mine. What's a matter are you too low on the YRC board for any work?

Naw ex, almost a single digit on a 200 member board. I live to give tubs like you the business. The same type that made you soil your britches when you (supposed) supervised a Union barn. A Teamster that knows his contract and enforces it. You aren't BS' n anyone.

i have an iq over 70, have a job, and love this country! what other country could i **** off so many bible thumping rednecks with one mark on a piece of paper!!

if you dont love it, leave it!
Yeah. Because it's all about pissing off many of the people you dare to call brothers. Barack Obama promised he was going to fundamentally change the United States of America. And he has, by following the example of the virtually bankrupt socialist European Union.

I guess you think it's okay that a British soldier was hacked to death by men with machetes in the streets of London because the unarmed police were too afraid to stop them. Would you be proud to have voted for the government that disarms police?

But no. Every conservative is a bible thumping redneck. I guess that's why the Republicans have more seats than they've ever had since the 1920's.

Vote based on a stupid reason and you will be treated like an idiot. Touting your right to vote and then spouting off about using that right to screw with others doesn't exactly make you a credible pro-union party. Because now the anti-union people can argue that you're just stirring the pot.

You took issue with a post of mine, now you call every conservative a bible thumping redneck. Well sir I am a Christian, I am also a conservative, I am not however a republican, because in my opinion the difference between a dem&a rep is just the letter at the end of their name. Neither one is there for the people that voted then in, they are too get rich off of the lobbyist that gives then the most. That is why all corporations give money to both parties so they can cover all their bases. And bible thumpers as you call them also believe in the 2nd amendment. I can forgive you and I will as Jesus has said we should, but I will protect my family.

I was being both facetious and sarcastic, friend. I am, in fact, a conservative myself and was voicing my own offense at the idea of someone voting liberal just to upset the conservatives. I have no quarrel with you here. I also believe that you Americans should be proud of your constitution. We have nothing like the 2nd Amendment here in Canada and I sincerely wish we did.

You are wrong as far as a starting point goes The union will start with what they have now and build on it, nothing less. And what makes you think he's a union leader? I'm thinking you two are butt buddies.
