Shut down

Talked to a couple drivers back to work...on an on-call basis...they don't know whether to sleep or not sleep... whole thing is mind boggling...just read an article in trucking boards saying LAX main concern is not even financing but regaining customers most of which were already picked up by other new England carriers...naturally.
good luck in ur future job search workanomo....keep in touch....

Well, hells bells we got paid this morning! I have been paid for everything I worked New Years week. However, I didn't get holiday pay and I am still owed 2 $500 safety bonuses. Hopefully lax will survive and the rest of the guys will get back to work. We do not have so many good paying options in Maine by the way. I feel bad for the Jersey people.
Lets NOT foreget the company was put O.O.S not the employees , Just a way not 2 pay what DUE 2 ALL....

NJ warn act should be taking into account total size of company, not just your terminal. I cant imagine a state like NJ thinking otherwise. like was stated by another guy with a brain (sort of rare around here), go talk to a lawyer. if you have your ducks in a row, and any sort of paperwork on the safety bonuses, a smart lawyer should be able to get you all your money back, warn money, vacation, and maybe interest, since you aren't supposed to use your employee's payroll as a petty cash fund whenever you screw up....

But is that number per facility or company wide? Shutting 2 buildings with less then the amount will it still qualify especially since the company hasn't shut down

It looked like per facility, but it could per state. Above my pay grade, you can just call the labor and ask. That's why they are there.

Now that NASA has shut down its program, Bill can hire all those unemployed space monkeys to replace the current management.

good news !! workers got paid, now it isn't all that was expected but its a good start considering what has taken place the last few weeks.. saddened that the nj terminals were dropped but it had to happen for a chance to survive.. sorry for your loss nj drivers, good p&d drivers will survive for sure down there.. lot of new freight picked up today! looks like all the twisted stories that the blood sucking pirate ltl drivers told the customers did not hold water.. and they told some doozies! ... customers said they loved our company from our top notch service to the way that the drivers go above and beyond most other drivers that only give service to the tailgate(which is many of the lazy union drivers) their words not mine!.. and they will stick it out for as long as it takes us to get back to normal.. so we have that going forward for us!

Let me preface this by sayingI love Maine and the people are great. But trying to figure out how that huge service area and the possible amount of customers is more profitable that covering an area of NJ. Now if the issue is bc of things disappearing. I get that concern. But an easy way to stop that is hiring and firing rite workers. Don't tell me only way to survive is cutting NJ. BC Land Air ignored warnings about issues in OCT, now NJ suffers along w countless drivers throughout company. If LAX took care of equipment, employees, and customers, none of these endless excuses would have to continue. Instead, I'm one of the many call guys

Fall guys

Glad to hear that you guys at least got something you were owed. Now is the time to run, and quick. Hopefully most of the good drivers have already secured other jobs or are in the process of looking. A company that does that kind of underhanded :::shit::: to it's drivers deserves to be gone.

They screwed over a ton of our accounts here at Saia, and thankfully we were able to count on NEMF and Pitt-Ohio to take on the extra freight for us. Sounds like LAX won't be getting any of our business back, either.

# 1 It was the management fault for not holding anyone accountable for the damage to the equipment. # It was the managements fault for hiring drivers that DID NOT PASS THE DRIVING TEST. # 3 It was the management that was accountable for everything that grew legs and walked. # 4 It was the management that new the cameras were down or made sure they were down when things grew legs and walked out. # 5 LAX mechanics did take care of the equipment but the management didn't hold anybody accountable at all ! # 6 When things grow legs and disappear and management tells you that you are mistaken and don't worry about it. NJ terminals were suppose to one of the most profitable terminals ? So why were they shut down ? Because of management !

@Unforgiven , sorry to hear. I'm in same boat. Paid, but not all what is owed. This whole situation should have been avoided. It's unfortunate that so many of us are out of work bc of just a few people in charge of dealing with these issues. Best of luck to all who got screwed.

Mark, my point exactly. Management let all this happen. Now current workers, and newly unemployed employees are feeling repercussions from all this. Sucks that you tried to solve all the issues when brough before you, and for them to turn a blind then get rid of you is inexcusable. The same stuff that got them into mess is what you wanted to fix. I remember reading a prior post, probably yours. Believe karma was the word.

There was a lot of good people that worked at those terminals but also there was a few that didn't even belong in a truck or on a fork lift and then you had the terminal managers puppets that did all his dirty work for him. It's and shame we put a lot of pride in our work and I no so did Woody and Marty at there shops, And Jeff was a stand up guy that made sure things got done right and had our backs.I just wish Bill would have opened his eyes and put a stop to it before it came to this. The best part was that the terminal manager tried hiring back 2 of his puppets ( one that stole my wallet and the other one he had trying to screw up the jobs before they went out the door ) but that didn't happen. I never worked for a place like land air, just blew my mind what was going on and nobody did anything about it. All you guys that new me or came to my shop, including all you road drivers that use to come in last minute and drive me crazy. I wish you the best in 2016 and hope things work out for you.

All Spencer has to do is build a bridge to Canada an he will be just like Manny Moron.

I saw a land air driver go by me yesterday. He looked like a homeless guy who just lost his shoes.
