Holland | UPS Package is hiring

You got that right PIMP! LOL! All the great stories from over the years.....wish we had camera phones back in the day to record some of that stuff! One of my favorites was WH TM Scott B. showing all the city drivers a "safety video" that turned out to be a gay porno instead! The look on his face was priceless! Haha......he told the stewards he was gonna call the FBI.....rigggghhht.
JUST GLAD WE HAD VIDEO PHONES FOR THE JEFF ROGERS VISIT. LMFAO. EVERY UPPER MGMT PERSON THAT COME IN FOR A MEETING WOULD ALL START BY PLEASE NO VIDEO.

Hollandman73 I like you wish the best for my fellow union brothers at Holland. I have some great memories and stories from my 18+years and made life long friends and like you just want to let them know there is much better out there. But 5tolls wouldn't understand that if you read some of his previous post it's all I don't care as long as I get MY miles and MY check clears and I get what I want. Like I always said when I was at Holland you can spot a YES vote a million miles away by just listening to them. Lol

How do you know he's a yes vote?

A Dayton driver was in our break room and told us one of his buddies quit Holland (along with several others) for a ups feeder job.He said he works 2 days per week most of the time.He has already went a week without work and is getting concerned.

Where is parcel hiring full time?
I think the guys that like holland stay and the ones that don't leave.

Holland itself wasn't the problem most of the time. The problems at Holland usually traced back to YRCW and the way they do business. The "old" Holland was great and the YRCW version of Holland evolved into one big :censored: joke. So it technically wasn't that those of us who left, didn't like Holland, it was that we didn't like YRCW and the black cloud that they had hovering over our heads.

Even our management becoming so bitter and confrontational, traces back to YRCW and their business strategy.

Im not ASSuming anything, but all the senior drivers around here like to blame junior men, and a lot of the jr men were not even around FOR the vote, yet every senior guy is always, magically, a no vote........
Isn't it funny how every driver you talk to, says they "voted NO"? I've been here 4 months and EVERY driver I've spoken to says that they voted no! If so many voted no, then why did it pass? Only thing I can think of, if all these drivers DID VOTE NO, then did YRCW fudge the numbers to keep the concession? Just my opinion, and yes I know opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.

YRCW lost so many drivers to UPS they've starting doing what they do best. Lying to employees. YRC drivers said management is telling them the UPS hiring is only temp, that ppl who jumped ship are gonna be laid off just to try to scare them to stay. Temporary was the concessions yrcw said they needed and got not the 60mil UPS invested in more tractors and trailers system wide. :censored: you Welch, Ware, Pierson and Zollars you created the mess your in, if I were you I'd worry about getting your equipment road worthy and not what UPS is doing. Guys with 15+ years leave for a reason. 75% of the equipment on the road is in better shape then YRCWs and 15% of the 25% are rail and garbage haulers.

Where is Parcel hiring permanent drivers? All the tractor/trailer (feeder) driver openings I find are temporary seasonal openings.

I have a friend from us foods who went over to ups, he loves it, but he knows to put money aside for the lean times of the year until he gets a bid.

We had a Baltimore NP driver go to UPS as a feeder driver, when they had a big hiring binge. Saying alot of guys were going to retire. That didn't happen. Hasn't worked in four weeks. Now back working casual at NP.

So how many times are we going to vote this thing? Over and over and over like a dog with a bone! Sheesh!

Most of the no votes came from the regionals. The yes votes mainly came from yrc.

I remember when I liked it! Watched a good company turn to crap and left!!
Yea and I remember the " Best Contract Ever ", that changed quickly with the give backs and the vote until you get it right.! YRC steals from it's employees to make a profit, enough was enough.! UPS pays good and they have benefits/retirement, we lost quite a few to the position of feeder driver. I had to do my re-cert physical yesterday and a 24 year man had just taken his new-hire physical. He could not believe how nice everyone was to him during the process. Wal-Mart and UPS are still driving jobs, it's what you make out of them for you and your family...! He was telling me how many guys have left for UPS feeder drivers, and how many we have at Wal-Mart.! The number is growing, enough of the gloom and doom.! You have to make the best out of what you are doing. I hear all the time about how it is to work here from these, " I know a guy and this is how your treated." just as at UPS, there is life after YRC.! Funny the guys that went to UPS all seem to be adjusting to having a retirement again....good for them.!

anybody know the starting pay for a feeder driver? I heard it takes a long time to receive health insurance? Is that true?
