Every one at YRC will accept whatever they offer. Period.
Y'all can't even get a 35% voter turnout. 6 out of every 10 drivers at YRC cant even be bothered to JUST VOTE!

UpsF, for all the chest thumping "Fellow Brother" Union bravado, after sitting home for 2 days, got scared, and took what they were offered, not a cent more.
Ernie said they got every penny they could...it will improve Teamsters lifes, sounds good, let's wait and see what it is.
This is all a lot of BS! Why is everybody acting like they are going to lay down again? Job security? Health Benefits? 10 years of cuts and give backs is enough! We were bullied last time with upper management going from terminal to terminal threatning that if we didn't vote yes the doors would shut..... So be it! YRC's freight rates are way higher than our competitors. If the doors shut a new opportunity arises. Don't be afraid to start over with another company, it's never too late! The union isn't going to change, they are getting their dues, when are they going to recommended we stand our ground and get our 15%, pension, and retro pay like YRC promised when we gave concessions the first time. Take your stand!

Do the math. If you're getting .72 cpm at another company and have a speed limit tractor, on the road drivers can easily make enough to pay insurance and a raise from what they might offer. So either they give us full retrobusion of our wages or nobody will come, few will stay and the place closes. We at Holland are still .61 per hour behind from 10 years ago. Wasting money the last 6 months has gone rampant just to drain the books. I'll vote no until the cows come home or I'll be part of the Exodus. Not being treated like a fool no more. STAND together, STRIKE if we have to, or work like a second class driver another contract duration.
Agreed
When shiny wheel companies pass you offering 60+ cents per mile & company paid benefits it’s kinda hard to swallow
Those veterans need to show what we did to get what we have & bring others with us
Time to stand together brothers

Yrc is pumping money into it etc
Upgrading software & more they are not going anywhere, just trying to manipulate us again, stand together

You don’t even know what the offer is! Everything is speculation until you see it on paper. What are you voting “no” on?

Keep in mind that when you calculate the cost of insurance, it’s not just what you pay per week for the insurance. You have to take into account if it’s an 80/20 plan (they pay 80% you pay 20%) or is it a plan with an out of pocket max of say 10k. People never think about bad things until they happen. Bad luck when it comes to your health can add up to big bills in a hurry.
Sometimes when you’ve been in this a long time, you develop friendships and relationships with those are directly involved in the negotiations then you’re a little more assured of what you will see
We are all aware of what insurance we have & what costs could be, however I’m a 3rd generation teamster, the current insurance we have, I had as a kid when my father was a teamster
After 35 years, my 4 children & my wife also enjoyed our insurance, it’s good but was once better, a lot of us are aware of what we have but some things can be better & if we take what the company offers 1st, then we aren’t much better off than before, there’s a reason why we have what we currently enjoy, we fought together as one
The no vote on the mou is the only thing that got the companies attention in years

Has anyone thought about the fact that YRCW has replaced almost all of it’s equipment during the last five years, including trailers, tractors, tow motors, and a lot of yard buggies? That all comes off the bottom line. Taking that into account and the slap in the face(mine still stings) with huge corporate bonuses after we got shafted in our last contract, this contract has to be good for me to vote yes. We’ll see. I’m reasonable, but don’t take my mild manneredness for weakness. I DO NOT like being pushed. Oh and F@&) Mitch Lilly!

As far as the equipment, everyone knows that it is leased, right? It’s leased because they couldn’t afford to buy it. I don’t want to sound like a company apologist. They really suck at running this thing. They always seem to find money for themselves. But, they don’t have tons of money, due to their lousy management.

Wrong about not owning
Corporate always purchased then lease back as tax write off
Sleepers are only leased equipment
In agreement with you on current management from the glass house down

Ya’ll dead set on voting No on something you haven’t even seen? OK

Most of us have been around long enough to know you never take the first offer. I just don’t see their 1st offer being their “Best and Final Offer”, just my $.02 worth. I’ll take a look at plan b and c if necessary. The only way to get a YES vote out of me (which would be a first), would be a full return of what was given in the concessions, I think it’s called reciprocity, a yearly COLA, and a nice signing bonus to boot. There it is.

exactly..a friend of mine works for FedEx freight and his out of pocket is $7,000 a year while my out of pocket is $2,000 in Chicago.. important things to consider when voting..

The Central States pension is in a failed state whether it’s full contributions or zero contributions.Any contributions are a joke until they do something to sure it up.

I’m not basing our contract compared to ABF or any other company because we simply aren’t the same company.

I totally respect your vote and I believe you have insight the rest of us haven’t heard.

A buck out of the gate is what what I was considering for a vote but really not expecting them to offer because of the current operating ratio. .Doesn’t-matter 5% needs to come back or I’m not voting for it.

How about the road drivers? Is it breaking down to the same percentage as the city? Many of our city drivers are making more than 70k per year. That is not bad with insurance and protections we have.
That is actually better than what the middle to bottom nons will make. I still can’t top 70 at sefl after years of trying in city. And that’s not even including your higher take home because I have to pay $100 a week for mediocre insurance. You’ve got it better than you think

My comment isn’t telling anyone what contract they should take, only that yrc isn’t as horrible a place to earn a living as I read about on here. The only big issue for me moving to yrc or abf is the crappy equipment you have to work with

Is anyone else worried about all these new guys? I know at Holland we have so many new hires in the last year or two going around smiling and laughing and bragging about how they are making so much money! These would appear to be a whole lot of yes votes to me! Then you add in all the guys that are too lazy to vote for anything and the guys that are well into their sixties and just want a couple more years to retire and I think it is a recipe for the first offer to be accepted because there are only a quarter or a third of the guys that are willing to fight? Just my opinion and I hope I am wrong!

come on now "keepinon'

I think your right. I think any offer closed to what Shotgun716 posted, and this thing sails through first vote. I believe the overwhelming majority of guys in their late 50s to 60s won't bat an eye over voting yes for this contract. All we hear on this board and that yrcw Facebook page, are the vocal minority.
