Central Transport | Rick Gaetz resigned this morning, replaced by Bill Deluce, current board member

it is hard to say what is what with the higher ups... like i said before, was RG in CK's way of turning things around? did RG resign because of DMC coming on board? did RG resign on his own, or did the board ask him to in order to "save face?"
way to many things to speculate on without knowing the facts......

also in another post, it is the employees who are not pulling together as much as they could too. at my place the same still say "i don't care" and leave with freight you know will tip over,,, then a few hours later call in and complain they had a skid tip over and now have a damage claim. certain ones will always get 50 to 55 hours stroking the clock due to being friends with the TM and others, while others struggle to get their 40 while doing their job correctly.

i give CK till the end of the year, hopefully i am not here anywhere near that long, but we will see. as long as i am here, i will still do my job correctly

I do not know why any driver would leave out knowing they had tippy freight, I have picked up way too many before I learned that a strap is a wondrful thing. but, if your box is loaded before you get to work and a dockworker did not strap or you can not see over other freight to see what might tip, you are at the mercy of your driving skills.

Like NW said it is hard to say about the higher ups. Having said that, and assuming the board does want CK gone how would that play out? CK has stuffed the ranks (from dock supervisors to vice president of the US side) with his followers it would be hard to pull off. These guys only know one thing and that is the Fed Ex way. That is not bad, but if CK's direction is wrong for them that means all these new fed ex folks are too. Can the US side survive another gutting and replacement of management?

I say CK will stay if for no other reason than there is no better option at this time.

I, like runaway, don't think the sky is about to collapse, although its definately fallen a little. It takes a very short time to tear things down, but a very long time to build them back up. CK is their man and he is not going anywhere. You have to give him a chance to turn this around. Last year was the tearing down stage, this year is the building back up stage. If we are still having the same kind of discussions in november, the party is over.

yes train, i'm starting to lose it. when you work here for a long time you get depressed and have a negative outlook. thanks for helping a brother out. later.
You know I still love you bro.....And I understand all too well....Just messing with you a bit....But the fact is CK will be here more than 3 months in my opinion and if you really thought about it I think you would agree.

The company is going to reveal their 1st quarter results on 4/25. Be prepared to come to work and find a padlock on the gates soon.

The 25th is a full moon, talk about bad karma. Clean your trucks out at the end of the day on the 26th just in case. I hear that locksmith's truck coming. LOL!

I don't believe that's true....They can and will be separated

Train now is the time to change horses. All the LTL companies are hiring. Just do it! Nobody likes changing jobs but you will feel much better when you get the stress off your back.

I'm thinking it over LM.....I thought I could ride it out, but with each day that passes I'm finding it harder and harder.

My situation is different from most on here...I'm close to retirement and I'm not drowning in debt....But there does come at point when enough is enough

Your age doesn't matter with companies as a driver. They all need experienced drivers and will work with you.

If CK stays he will be the puppet and the Board will be the master. Nothing will happen moving forward at Vitran Express without the involvement of the B.O.D. It may make sense to keep Keylon on because as Luci said, if you whack him what do you do with the other senior managers he brought over here from FDX. McClimon did not join the board to simply be on the board, he will be a primary decision maker moving forward in all policy and procedures.

We could do like YRCW and go to the Obamabank and get out every much we need each quarter. That has been going on for the past 4 years.O that's right we can't do that we're non- union!!!!

It is funny how left leaning points of view on here are responded to as "political" and need to be taken to another forum, but right leaning comments slide by. Reminds me of vitran management and how they pick and choose.

I find it interesting how people who consider themselves conservative get on here and complain when a company like vitran plays by the rules of capitalism to squeeze every last thing out of them and then make them scrub toilets, but then go to the voti g booth and support the rules that allow them to get squeezed at work.

This is actually great not having to keep political comments off here. Lets get to it if we are going to be political :)

Truth hurts !!!!! It's documented Teamsters gave millions to Obama re-election campaign so he would keep bailing out Teamster companies like YRC every quarter. If you can't see that I feel sorry for you!! So I guess you believe if Vitran lost 40 to 50 million a quarter for the last 5 years like YRC has done, they would still be open? NOPE !! I just proved my point !!! Thanks

The right promotes capitalism.....Whereas the left promotes socialism.....Those are the facts....I consider myself more of a liberal however....Lets move on because this is off topic

I agree with Train. If luci wants to talk politics there is a whole thread just for that. I am absolutely sick of politics and don't want anything to do with it.
