FedEx Freight | Fedex - In The News

The ground guys I have talked to are not excited about having express packages injected into their day. Nor are they embracing the 7 day delivery. I think FedEx may have a retention problem at Ground on the horizon.

Ground and express probably aren’t under any hours of service regulations either. I’m sure those contractors work those guys to death.

Ground is under HOS regulations, but there are ways around it. I wouldn't be using my clock until I left the terminal even though I already spent 2 hours there loading my truck. I would only have to allow for 15 minutes before leaving for a pretrip I never did.

I would expect part timers to handle the weekend stuff. Almost no one is going to work 7 days a week, for more than a handfull of weeks. Talk about becoming "digruntled".

  • Pilot must be employed for at least six months at Empire Airlines or Mountain Air Cargo before entering the program
That would be the biggest obstacle for me.
I would think the associates/bachelor degree along with the pilots license would be the first obstacle(s) for most...

"FedEx announced the addition of 1,000 Chanje V8100 electric delivery vehicles to its fleet last November. FedEx is purchasing 100 of the vehicles from Chanje Energy Inc. and leasing 900 from Ryder System, Inc. Today’s agreement will provide an innovative infrastructure to support the continued rollout of its electric vehicle fleet.

“FedEx is thrilled to continue being a pioneering industry leader in the electric vehicle space,” said Mitch Jackson, chief sustainability officer, FedEx Corp. “The vehicles and DC charging infrastructure will not only help FedEx meet our operational efficiency and sustainability goals, but provide learning, scaling and experience to others in the vehicle electrification journey. We believe this will be a game-changer.”

No mention of Goverment "incentives", likely to contribute to the cost effectiveness...

FedEx CEO Sees Vindication Ahead for His Anti-Amazon Strategy

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...mises-2020-rebound-will-prove-him-right-again

"FedEx Corp. founder Fred Smith, nearing the end of a legendary career, says he’s going to prove himself right one more time."

"He’s drawing the battle lines, positioning FedEx as a kind of anti-Amazon ally for big-box retailers and pledging that his strategy will soon enable FedEx to overtake UPS."
FEDEX stock is down 59% from it's march 2018 high. UPS stock is down 34% from march 2018 high. UPS stock is worth 2 1/2 times FEDEX stock. Might take a little longer than "soon", to make up a 2 1/2 times market value lead.

But if FedEx stock gets much lower it’ll be time to buy, buy, buy....then I can sit and wait for it to return to 200+!! :1036316054:
