SAIA | We need a union and we need it now!

Actually chronologically speaking, Mr Train got a case of the red ass when I mentioned the fact that UPSF workers almost unanimously voted FOR union representation when given the chance and that there haven't been any decertifications... He couldn't debate that so he said for me to stay on my own forum, which he has made a habit of not doing himself. I personally don't care if he wants the union or not, as he obviously will tote the company line no matter what.

You yourself are attempting to get on at SEFL, I'm sure they have lots of protection for the drivers against purchase correct? Maybe you should read their forums, seems some are not so happy there either and they have NO contract so perhaps you would be happy there in a non union environment.
Explain to me why the Teamsters could never get in without the UPS buyout? I know why. I just wonder if you know why.

Please allow me take the time to apologize to all of the employees of Saia for our resident wannabe union troll invading your forum.

Just because Mr Hooty Hoffa Jr can't get any support from his own company, let alone the support he's lost at his own center, doesn't mean he should be here on the Saia forum looking for support. Not sure as to his motivation for even being here, although some can speculate, since he doesn't work for Saia, but to invade the forum of a company you don't work for to push a failed agenda that even the majority at his own company company doesn't want is asinine to me...and others. I understand that all forums are open to anyone for any topic but to try and push a failed agenda onto another company while antagonizing the employees of that said company is again, asinine!! You guys can obviously see through his own actions and words on your forum why the majority at our center, let alone the company as a whole, no longer wish to follow his "you're either with us or you're against" us attitude.
You guys can rest asurred that not all employees of FXFE are like Hooty Hoffa Jr, most are quite happy with the company we work for, just as you guys are, and if we wanted a union job, we would've applied for a union job at a union company!!

Thank you for your time and for allowing me to express my opinion. :1036316054:

Thanks brother Red, as many know I was one of the top posters in your union thread but I no longer post in your forum. I have many reasons but the top reason is I don't work at FedEx and I don't feel it's my place any longer. I will read it and like my favorite posters but that is all I will do. I hope you guys decert as soon as possible and send the Teamsters packing. You will always have those that think the grass is greener on the other side. It's not. Not with today's Teamsters. The 2016 Teamsters. If you have any doubt just visit the YRC and ABF forums for a reality check.

Great post. I would also add UPS freight to that list

That's an easy one, you and many argue that the Teamsters lost it on the market but many (convienently some) forget the United States government had taken control of the fund back in the 80's... In their glorious wisdom Golman Sachs and Northern Trust were given that money right before a major depression and THEY lost a minimum of 40%, that's right people, 40 PERCENT of the TOTAL value of the fund in a mere 15 months. How ironic that both of these would be bailed out to the tune of many BILLIONS by our own government, but the pension fund they destroyed got ZERO. What a deal huh? But the uneducated blame the teamsters out of their own personal axe to grind not reality. The Teamsters had no control over the pension fund as much as some like to claim they did during the biggest part of its demise.

So, if I understand this correctly, the Teamsters are not to blame because they lost control of the pension due to corruption?

No it's not, it's all "franchises" now to get around the employee issue.

Sounds like you're against capitalism & free market society. Socialist? Or what's the old saying? If you're not a Capitalist, you're a Communist? America, birthplace of Unions and proud, right to work employees. Right to work. Voted on, just like contracts. Go sell your ::shit:: to dues paying, union slamming folks.

May I ask why you don't work for a Union carrier? You may get the chance after FedEx fires you for trying to organize. Of course you may not want to work union after the Teamsters sell you out as they're known to do.

"You may get the chance after FedEx fires you for trying to organize"
Wow.
Now please explain to everyone here on the world wide web how you PERSONALLY feel about that quote.
Would you condone that behavior from the corporation that employs you?

Hey if you call capitalism paying your employees third world wages , then yes i am against it.

So if I understand you correctly, you blame the Teamsters for the loss of funds in the pension fund when Goldman Sachs and Norhtern Trust had control over it, gotcha.

Hypothetically, You spend your car payment in the bar every month and find yourself in a repo jam. Bank agrees to allow me to hold your cash to make said car payment. If I lose it in the casino & they take your car, who's to blame? I don't place blame in regards to the pension fiasco, except to say, dating back to Sr embezzling $25m in '63(worth $192m today excluding interest), the IBT ain't blameLESS.

My old beer delivering buddy OWNS two Ground routes & says it's paying ok. If wages are intolerable, how do these Non U companies retain employees? If no one does the work, it would seem the companies would quickly fold. I also encourage you to visit the YRC & Holland forums, particularly the threads discussing why they can't get new hires. Finally, just wait til your AFL/CIO buddies get burger flipping up to $15/HR. Then YRCW will fill seats for $16 or $18 or whatever "third world rate" they start their folks at.

Very simple they don't, they have a constant turnover of employees, how many 7/11 subway ,MC Donald, burg king and many more franchises, pay more than minimum wage? Your buddy that OWNS 2 routes is making money by paying a sub standard wage.

Heres a novel idea. Pick up the phone, call the teamsters, get them to your terminal, stand with them as they attempt to get others onboard. And make sure you personally try to get your TM on board. Then this back and forth will stop.

Agree with you 100%. It's quite annoying that these old ladies feel the need to spew their ::shit:: on our forum. That teamster lifestyle MUST be great, all these guys do is bitch. I think we'll pass. Probly why I've happily NEVER heard anyone in our yards even mention organizing. Yep, we're non Union & I go to and leave work with a smile in my mind everyday. Have good Sunday & be safe Driver.
