That's the long and short of it.Skeeter said:The majority stills rules...
Who do you represent/work for? UPS Freight or overnite? Oh, wait a minute it must be overnite if your avatar is any indication. Your right about one thing, for the majority of you the benefits have gotten better for some of us worse. I guess at your company (overnite) the little guy does not count.Skeeter said:They will never get enough cards signed. Why should we we have good pay and excellent benefits. This board doesn't represent UPSF. Not even by a fraction.
The pay and benefits have gotten better not worse. The majority stills rules...

ftaf08, It's 50% plus 1 for an election, Not 30%. The comnpany could recognize a card check but does not have to.
If you don't mind me asking. How did your wages and benefits get worse?steve5 said:Who do you represent/work for? UPS Freight or overnite? DELAY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wanting us to donate.Silverhawk1 said:If you don't mind me asking. How did your wages and benefits get worse?
OK thanks. A lot of our line haul drivers have said the same. Well maybe you will see a change with that really soon. It is my understanding that some if not all of the UPS's line drivers get paid hourly. maybe that's the way UPS Freight will go. either way something dose need to change.greezy trucker said:DELAY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GT if they did something about your delay pay, like put you to work on the dock during that time or tighten up your schedule times to minamize your delay and started paying overtime after 8 hours for the hourly employee's would you be a little more content?greezy trucker said:Well we are two different animals sooooo.....don't think the pay will cross over and their job set up is not totally because of UPS it is tha part you don't want to hear about.....
Drivers do not belong on any dock. That should be left for dock workers only. Driving 4-5 hours and then pounding the dock for a few hours and driving another 4-5 hours at all hours of the night is a safety issue. A ******* mission!Silverhawk1 said:GT if they did something about your delay pay, like put you to work on the dock during that time or tighten up your schedule times to minamize your delay and started paying overtime after 8 hours for the hourly employee's would you be a little more content?
Not all feeder drivers get paid hourly. When feeder drivers bid on runs that meet or exceed a certain mileage they are paid 60cpmSilverhawk1 said:OK thanks. Yeah, but working the dock to me is not a place for a driver that has spent 5 hours sitting and then jump in there and start doing something that is also hard on the body. But I can say that it is understandable that they want production and all that. If the run is under 500 or less, yeah it is great way to make your run pay more. I think the responsibility is theirs to get us all in and out. The feel here is "if we get you out on time great but if we don't produce on our end then , well it's on you to make it better". And that is the part that bugs me, how much can we squeeze out of your life, being 14 hrs a day. I'm not sure if this makes sense, but it is how it feels at work that makes life there good or not.Silverhawk1 said:GT if they did something about your delay pay, like put you to work on the dock during that time or tighten up your schedule times to minamize your delay and started paying overtime after 8 hours for the hourly employee's would you be a little more content?

I here what you are saying, and it isnt for everyone but we have a lot of bids that do just that. and there is one of our drivers that dose it at both terminals. He is a work'o holic.BusterNite said:Drivers do not belong on any dock. That should be left for dock workers only. Yep that is what I was told as well. I think that is reasonable.BusterNite said:Not all feeder drivers get paid hourly. When feeder drivers bid on runs that meet or exceed a certain mileage they are paid 60cpm
