Not my enemy....I just answered the question...he's looking out for him....and me
How was Ernie looking out for you in 2010?
Speak up... I can't hear you!!!

Docker, the concessions kept your pension increases going, and ABF/ArcBest was going to diversify regardless.....so you must agree that ArcBest can idle "paid for" ABF, just like putting your pickup in the garage and keep the corporate lights on with the subsidiaries until the dust settles "so to speak" Sounds like they're not going to suffer too badly, you know Judy and her friends, but these ABF Teamsters may take a hit, but we will win in the end...or wind up with at least something in the end...oops, poor choice of words there. Been nice chatting with ya, but I'm fixing to go fishing for a while this afternoon....see if I can get a strike...you gonna bring the grill down to the picket line and cook them folks a hot dog while they try to protect your pension?Just what subsidiaries are you talking about? Do you mean Panther... the company they bought after they came for the concessions in 2010 that Ernie pleaded for or do you mean the other 3 companies they bought after Ernie negotiated the concessionary contract along with pleading for the members to accept?
Speak up... I can't hear you!!!
I'm saying they all have a (spin) job to do. When you have a job to do, you have to do it well, or at least pretend convincingly :-) Bye now, I gotta rig up a pole.So... are you saying that Ernie and the boys were full of crap and tried getting the ABF Teamsters to accept concessions that weren't needed?
Would you call that looking out for what was in the best interest's of the ABF Teamsters?

You know docker the dirty little secret amongst teamsters is the difference in pensions, and how much the company pays in weekly.
like I have observed before, Turncoat, will you be able to make your payments on the new double wide, bass boat, and tricked out pickup? No problem with me being laid off or ABF shutting the doors...,I think I will just take the man's word for it. Don't think I will be alone either, but ya'll can all do what suits ya! If you're thinking ABF is going to give your vacation back and a raise and pay increases to broke pension funds, then go ahead and give it a whirl. Tight capacities in LTL markets and we'll probably be able to pick some freight back up after a strike, but, a lot of it we'll lose. Now their going to lock the gate if this votes down. ArcBest is not broke and operating month to month. They will idle ABF and still have a revenue stream every month until this is figured out. Will you? Will there be enough customers to bring you back after the stoppage? Or will you be layed-off a while? This is no threat Brothers and Sisters, it's a promise. The IBT is looking out for you....and them.
hey Bubba, it must be getting very testy at Judy's lunch table? You seem to know so much about the inner workings..no doubt in my mind that you work at the Fart in labor relations..you know it allNO UNION FOOL, you know docker even the man has limits, keep taking tour meds or you are going to get banded again.
You know docker the dirty little secret amongst teamsters is the difference in pensions, and how much the company pays in weekly.
CSPF gets $8.55 an hour, Upstate New York conference of Teamsters pert near $14.00 an hour. With a correspondently different amount of monthly pension! Naturally all these special teamsters, with their MEGA pensions, want them bailed out with their own special supplement to the contract. Should an ABF employee vote no on the contract, because the special teamsters didn't get their bailout supplement? I asked super teamster CANARY, if he could provide the differences in teamster pensions and how much is paid in. Usually Canary can whip any statistic right out of his ass, except when a statistic makes him look like an ass.
The take home is ABF is the last dinosaur in the NMFA, seems like intelligent people would say maybe we have been doing something wrong in LTL. The bottom line is with wages, pension and health care combined the cost of labor for ABF is more than any non union company.
The country is way past due for a cyclic down turn in the economy. Maybe next week the CDL driver shortage will turn into a glut.
How about some transparency, have Ernie provide a list of total compensation paid per local unit. then you could talk about pension envy. Canary, docker/NO UNION FOOL, GO40 how much more in pension benefits do you get over CSPF?
Not that it's really any of your business, but the stuff I possess is paid forlike I have observed before, Turncoat, will you be able to make your payments on the new double wide, bass boat, and tricked out pickup? No problem with me being laid off or ABF shutting the doors...,
Real Teamsters/ Good Americans/ Christians just have to laugh at you docker. 73 multi employer pension funds, full of union brothers and sisters, have gone bankrupt, for decades docker you did nothing to assist them. Shame on you docker. only when your ox was being gored did you say anything. An your solution to the problem, the taxpayer.
Docker doodle do, even people who despise me on this forum, can agree with me it is smart to hide my identity. docker you have been voted, poster most likely to become a stalker.
docker to think multi employer pension funds are going to get a bailout. after 73 have already gone bankrupt, is truly evidence you are a lunatic.
lets get back to this thread docker, Ernie is right, when comparing total compensation between ABF and non union carriers it is lunacy to think ABF can compete in the market place. If ABF employees got comparable wages on top of massive pension contributions. as you know docker the majority of those pension contributions go to other people.
legacy cost are going to suppress wages for some time docker. the important thing though is you got yours!
remember go to "pension tsunami" website to inform yourself.
also Canary is it true some teamsters are more equal than others, as a socialist, i thought you would appreciate that reference to animal farm.

Drivers will have no problem getting a job of equal pay, you on the other hand will not fair so well....CAT got your tongue Canary, you gave no response. Canary how many ABF jobs is it acceptable to lose permanently by going on strike. Canary when are you going to step up to the plate, tell the ABF drivers, ABF can't stay in business. Paying massive pension contributions AND FEDEX freight wages. IT'S math CANARY, am I right or do you have that special "socialist math" that proves me wrong.
The sides unveiled new terms after several months of negotiations to replace a contract that expired on March 31. The proposed 63-month deal includes wage increases for drivers in each year of the contract, one-time bonuses for full-time workers and the restoration of a vacation week that was eliminated in the previous agreement between ABF Freight and the Teamsters.
Ratification of the agreement is now subject to a vote among ABF Freight's union workers, who were mailed ballots last week. Ballots will be accepted until May 8 and the votes tallied May 10.
Fort Smith-based ArcBest, parent company of ABF Freight, has encouraged its union employees to vote in favor of the new contract and said doing so will help them continue to have the "best-compensated jobs" in the industry. About 8,400 ABF workers are union members. ArcBest has around 13,000 employees.
"At the start of negotiations, ABF said our goal was to reach an agreement that was fair to employees and affordable for the company," ArcBest said in a statement. "Ratification of this beneficial agreement for both parties will allow ABF to continue serving our customers with the excellent experience they expect and provide additional opportunities for the company to grow."

there hasn' been a increase in the amount paid to Centrals states since 2010. So how did Ernie help us again?Docker, the concessions kept your pension increases going, and ABF/ArcBest was going to diversify regardless.....so you must agree that ArcBest can idle "paid for" ABF, just like putting your pickup in the garage and keep the corporate lights on with the subsidiaries until the dust settles "so to speak" Sounds like they're not going to suffer too badly, you know Judy and her friends, but these ABF Teamsters may take a hit, but we will win in the end...or wind up with at least something in the end...oops, poor choice of words there.
