I dunno...I, Red, can't speak for you, RC, him, Fred, or the rest of the class. I will concede, as JD pointed out, that I have been known to play devil's advocate, not for the purpose of being a "Richard" but rather as an attempt to see and understand both sides of an argument. If he is just a driver like you and I, Red, how is it that you, Red, see things in such great depth and clarity, while the rest of us mere mortals only see the ripples on the surface?
I will say that with my 22+ years with the company and with CLT growing to become a triple hub, I've come to build a lot of relationships with a multitude of people, including our hub planners and our freight flow specialist...all of whom have held other positions within the company before taking on their present roles. Instead of just complaining, I ask questions in order to better understand certain situations and to seek solutions...if possible. What I've discovered over many years is that what we, as drivers (Fred, yourself, & I), see on the surface isn't necessarily the "whole truth" and there's usually other factors at play that easily explain why that "percieved" truth isn't whole.
IMO, if all drivers took advantage of our "open door policy" and actually took the time to find out the why to our questions (while decifering through the BS of being told what they think we want to hear) instead just believing what we "see" or "hearsay" from other drivers, we all would have a better understanding of why certain things happen and the reason to why they happen.
Take @Canadian Flyer for example, he was a contractor for FXFC and although he's no longer employed here, he has a better understanding of how we operate and why we do the things we do than most of the company drivers that still work here!! Why, experience and he ask questions instead of just believing what he saw....like myself.
